I'm thinking of applying for next year! let me know how it is so far!

Hi, I am about to start the Evening Post-Bac at Drexel. Can anyone tell me about:
1. Class size
2. Class compostion- Is it just working people who take the courses or you take them with regular Drexel students?
3. How is parking in the evenings around 6pm when the classes start? Can one get free parking on campus?

Thanks for any response to these questions.

Hi,

I just got accepted into the program and will be attending in the fall as well.

From what I understand, class size is kept relatively small, as these classes are only open to PMED students I believe. Because of this, I believe this program is geared mainly towards graduate students/career changes to take classes at night, so i doubt any Undergrads will be in the evening classes. As for us PMED taking daytime Ugrad classes, i'm not sure how that works, but I may look into that as well.

As far as parking, I would not worry about it too much. There are tons of public lots around the area, and large garages for the 2 hospitals in the area (Hahnemann and Jefferson). So you should be able to find a spot, for a price. I have no idea if we will get free or discounted parking.

Will you be seeking financial aid if you don't mind me asking? Any idea on the details of that?

just out of curiosity, what were your credentials?

I am interested in applying to Drexel but since its a program directly through medical school would think it may be more competitive?

I don't think its too late to apply now? Deadline is not for another month

I don't think its too late. I was accepted within about 2 weeks of completing my application, which was not too involved.

Its fairly competitive I think because logistically, it is great (all evening) and it is also supposed to be one of the better post-bac programs in the area. I had an average GPA from UPenn and a very high SAT. No GRE or other tests. (They also want your high school transcript, which is crazy!) I think I had some good recommendation letters too, although those probably didn't mean much.

Good luck!

do any former/current PMED students know if it is possible to do the PMED in one year or otherwise complete it in a way that lets you skip the 3rd glide year?

Hey guys...i applied to drexel pmed this year...my recommendations and sat scores are in transit...how long do you think they will take to let me know about my status...gpa 3.0 non-trad (finance)...

if i remember correctly, i was notified of admission fairly quickly. also, i do not think many people get rejected from this program, so i'm pretty sure you'll get in.

THanks ryan...so far how has your experience been in this program...profs? exams? class size? are you applying for linkage?

I just submitted my application today with the August 13th deadline, I hope it's not too late.

Does anyone know if not having any healthcare experience (or any experience to spin it as healthcare experiece) will hurt me in the application process? I have applied to volunteer at local hospitals in the fall.

the program is really designed for the career changer e.g. someone who works full time during the day in an unrelated field and needs to keep their job while taking these classes, so you really aren't expected to have any healthcare experience by this point. i worked in the entertainment industry in los angeles and got in...the admission process is not rigorous i get the feeling so don't worry
