Anybody hear back from UW?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hi,

I know that if they want to interview you, they will give you a call. Last year, when my application wasn't cosidered, I didn't hear back from them until I received my rejection letter in the mail. I mean, I was sent a secondary application but then nothing happened for like 4 months and then I received a rejection letter. No updates on AADSAS, just the rejection letter. So, if you haven't received your secondary appl yet, I'm not sure if there is any hope. But if you turned one in, why don't you give them a call to see if they have looked at your application yet. Hope this helps!

I am applying next cycle. I was just curious how fast they're moving.

:luck:

UW has rolling admissions so they will take their time in accepting applicants. Many students told me that they were interviewed after Dec. 1 and were still accepted.

Hi again,

If you're applying next year. To make your appl as competitive as possible, apply EARLY! I mean, being one of the first few to apply is the key. Also, making sure you have a few volunteer experiences is also very important. UW is pretty keen on making sure their students are well-rounded and is "passionate" about giving back to their community so extracurricular activities will make you really stand out among 1000+ applicants. Also, as a state school, UW accepts students with varying GPA's. I know that last year, 30% of their students have 3.8-4.0, 20% have 3.5-3.8, 20% have 3.5-3.3, and 30% 3.0-3.3--or something to that extent.

Finally, their website if pretty comprehensive. Reading it will help you gauge what they want you to address in your personal statement. 🙂

Even if I try to call them, they never respond. I always get redirected to a answering machine. I left them a message and they never called back.

How did you guys get a hold of the people at UW?

Do you have any idea of how full there class is at this point?

I interviewed in mid December and I'm hoping to get "the call" any day. It could be a while though. From what I've heard and read it sounds like people either are accepted a week or two after their interview or not until March. I wish I was already in, but I think there's still hope. 🙂
