Has anybody gotten a secondary from them?
Not necessarily. From what I understand, only in-state students are guaranteed interviews. Have you heard otherwise?Originally posted by efex101
Yes, if you get a secondary you also get an interview. The secondary is really nothing though...

I haven't ever heard of an out-of-state applicant NOT getting an interview from UNMC. The flipside is that y'all [out-of-staters] have virtually no hope of getting in so unless you like visiting Nebraska, or can double up a Creighton interview with a UNMC interview, or are just a Cornhuskers fan [Go Big Red!!!]. I wouldn't waste the $$$$ to come out this way.
Sorry to sound so discouraging but the numbers are definitely [as is the case with every out-of-state person everywhere, not just UNMC] against you.

Yeah I sent in that little form too. I think it means that you will be sent a secondary application as soon as they get your payment.Originally posted by XCanadianRagwee
Ok this is confusing.
I'm a reapplicant. Last year the secondary fee was $25, this year it's $45. However, I jsut have a little form I clip and mail in then they'll send me additional information.
Is that how they are doing it this year?

As for out-of-staters getting interviews...if you have close ties to Nebraska, then you are fine.
For example if you live in NE for 15 years you have a decent shot.
Also NE has a law that states if you graduated from a NE high school, and that if you were to matriculate into UNMC, you would pay in state tuition (doens't really have much effect on acceptance or not).

It's weird. U of Nebraska appears to have lost my AMCAS application or something.
AAMC said they transmitted it to them
But UN says they never received it.
UN told me they will call their AMCAS representative and ask for another one.
