I scheduled my interview, but I'm not sure how many "traditional applicants" they take (most of their class comes from the Brown program). Does anybody have the numbers of interviewed/accepted for outsiders?

I've read on this site that they're going to take about 10 "outsiders" this year. This is the first year that Brown is doing this (accepting people into Brown medical school that didn't go to Brown undergrad or post-bacc program) so there is no historical data to reference.

i actually declined the interview, so I couldn't give you definitive information. However, from what I gathered from SDN people, it seems they're interviewing a few hundred folks for 10 spots. that's right..10 🙂

They are interviewing about 300, and from there accepting about 100. Those were the estimates given. Hope that helps. Good luck!

really???? that seems really high. did they tell you that on the interview day??

i too had heard from SDN the ten spots thing. That would mean, what, like 30 acceptances to fill those spots. i hope its more!

That seems high to me too. In September, a friend of mine sat in on a Brown Information Session up at Columbia - and she too said that they were only accepting about 10 non-Brown applicants. Perhaps they've (seriously) changed their views since then? Hmmm...

They only have 10-12 spots for traditional applicants, but they expect to accept 100 people (from the 300 interviewed) to fill those 10-12 spots.

No idea if it is true or not. All I know was those were the projected numbers given on the interview day. But as this is their first year, its all estimation. It's because their PLME class is smaller than normal, so they're expecting approximately 30 seats for traditional/non-Brown/non-Dartmouth/non-Brown Avenue/etc.
