Anybody know the specifics on the CVS bonus?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Word on the street is it ranges from $150-$500, woohoo.

Edit: Duh, it says that in the article. That's all I've heard lol

Outside the exposure bonus /s? I don't work for CVS, but if I were you, please make sure that accepting the "bonus" does not come with conditions like "cannot sue for COVID-19 issues" as it wouldn't be above a corporate entity to do just that. Walgreens would.

Not aware of CVS' bonus but for comparison Rite Aid is dolling out 1000$ for pharmacists/management. Techs/nonmanagement are getting a 2$/hr raise

They're hiring 50,000 now? lol they should've hired 100,000 about a decade ago just to stay normal.

There are about 10,000 cvs stores... so they're hiring 5 extra workers per store? lol not gonna happen. I call BS. Maybe 1 or 2 if the store is doing really well... even if a COVID-19 confirmed patient dies in their pharmacy, they're gonna fire the pharmacist for not getting rid of the patient before it happened.

Do we know if this is actually incremental FTE or this is a campaign to fill the many existing holes?

You can save your job if you give the decedent enough vaccines before the coroner gets there.
If youre good enough to spot the moment theyre about to die and have them sign the consent forms with their dying breath, cvs will im sure promote the hell out of you. Probably will make you DM. Seemed like most DMs would do such things when I worked there.

$300 for pharmacist and pharmacy manager. $500 for a store manager. $150 for part time techs and I think $300 for full time techs. The catch is to work until May and that is when we get paid.

Cheap hazard pay. Here is negligible money. Work til you catch beer boomer virus.

That's why you have to wait till May to collect. Next of kin are not eligible to collect the bonus.... That Merlo guy really is a genius....

Wow what a joke CVS is. Even Rite-Aid who's about to go bankrupt giving $1,000 lol

We received $1000 in store credit last week across board. Everyone in the store. If you don't call in sick and don't use any PTO, you can collect another $1000 at the end of the outbreak.

I like that idea but at the same time I don't think that's the best way to get people in to work. I have had techs who would probably knowingly come in sick to get that extra 1k

Nice... Pharmacists are back in business..

Back in business? Lol

I got an email today from cvs about this 50,000 extra hiring. It clearly states, contract workers for covid19 relief help. This means that cvs is actually making profit off of these funds. Contract means no benefits and hourly. Im sure they over shot the amount they will bill the government by hundreds of millions. Even in times of tribulation, pharmacists get fawked.

Actually they will not find anyone. Most people whose jobs are closed will be getting generous unemployment benefits.

I heard $500 for manager/pharmacists, $300 for FT, $150 PT. Regardless, I agree with what others have said. This is on par with a .002% raise - pretty much a slap in the face while they're stacking bills behind closed doors.

Who would willingly sign up to work in these incubators like Walmart, drug store chains et al.

"So, under the new legislation, a typical worker could expect $985 a week for four months ($600 in extra relief plus state benefits), followed by up to 23 weeks of $385 a week in standard state benefits. Unemployment benefits are taxable. " (source)

Suppose you make $13/hr from these temp jobs. Nah I'd NEET instead.

Just collect dem coronabucks

What you heard is incorrect. Pharmacists get $300 for FT and $150 for PT based on average hours in April. The $500 is only for store managers. There’s documents on Rxnet explaining it.

I'm a part-time intern but worked nearly 40-50 hrs/wk for almost the entire month of April... will this qualify as the full-time bonus?

According to the documents on Rx net, yes but I wouldn’t believe it until I actually got it.

Do you know when we’re supposed to get it? I heard it’ll be evaluated in May, but unsure if there was a specific time period?

April’s bonus will be payed out on 5/22 and there is another Bonus for May that will be payed out sometime in June as per my DM

Is that bonus the same deal as April's $150 PT/$300 FT or is it something different?
