anybody with a 15 in DAT get an interview?

anybody with a 15s (especially in ochem) get an interview yet?...if so can you say all your dat scores and where youre getting interviewed at?

dont know for sure, but i doubt it. thats pretty low. i'm a 19/19/21 and still waiting for my 1st interview.

15s are very low...some schools have a cutoff at 16 and thats only acceptable if its one or two sections and even then...your chances are decreased dramatically. i suggest retake. gl.
 
I have a 15 in RC, 23 TS and 20 AA and yet have to receive an invite for an interview.....
 
I have a 14 in QR w/ two interviews. A guy I know has a 15 in QR w/ 5 interviews. My AA is 21 and his is 22.
 
I know a girl last year who scored a 12 in QR and I believe she got into NOVA, super nice girl though with great EC's
 
I know a person with a 8 QR who got into Harvard. 🙄

so that means she got a 27 or higher on her reading comprehension? lol, what a wide range of scores
 
The first time I took the DAT I got a 18 Bio/ 15 Chem/ 18 orgo. The second time I too the DAT I got a 17 Bio/ 25 Chem/ 15 orgo. Kind of overcompensated for the low chem score, especially as a chem major. I have interviews at NYU and Marquette, I applied to 5 schools this year. Also, I deferred admission to Creighton last year.

I got a 19/19/15 and still no interviews. Not even NYU 🙁
 
I know someone applying this year with 15 RC, but 22AA 24TS, got 5 interviews so far and they are all top notch schools.

I think you should be ok, depending on what schools you applied to. Remember that the DAT is only part of your application and the Ochem section is only part of DAT and most school usually place heavy emphasis on the sciences>PAT (interchangeable) > QR > RC (also depends). As long as your other credentials are good, you should be ok. As you know schools are in the process of sorting out applications and it is still pretty early in the game so sit back and relax 🙂
 
I got a 15 on the PAT. I was accepted to USC and NOVA and cancelled my interview at Tufts. Other sections were from 19-23.
 
I know an individual applying this cycle who has a 13 in QR and has an interview. I have an 18/19/22 with all scores above 17 but still no interviews. Go figure!

What are your stats like though? And what's your undergrad in?
 
i have a 15 and I have 6 interviews including UNC, maryland,etc...however my gpa is high so i guess it balances out. And the DAT is just a part of your application..schools DO look at everything u know..

jk. But I do wonder, for those who get in with very low scores, do they have rich relatives who make generous contributions to that dental school?
 
i have 20AA and 23TS and 15 in RC and have NO INTERVIEWS...now does that suck or does that suck?

that does not mean she got a 27 or higher on reading comprehension. academic average consists of more than just QR and RC. science scores are factored into it as well.
 
I think that if you have a 15 on some section (PAT or QR) being that some schools don't take them into account as much, you can get interviews. On the other hand, having a 15 in RC might be hard to overlook at some schools because dental school is reading intensive. That's just my opinion. I've known people with 14-15 on 1-2 sections with AA of 17+ and get in. I guess it just depends.

what are all ur stats if u dont mind? i have a pretty good gpa biut didnt do so well on pat? got a 15. gonna retake again, but i havent heard anything from maryland even tho i applied there...
 
I believe that some schools give greater weight to the DAT or for that matter, specific sections on the DAT. I know that last cycle Columbia sent me a letter telling me that I need a 20aa and no less than a 19 in each section to get an interview. Thank God, I got into my own state school.
One thing is for sure, schools with NEVER discourage you from applying to their school. They want your secondary fees, and they also want to brag about how many ppl applied. Do your self a favor and consider a few factors before applying. Look at your own state school as you may have preference to because you are a resident. When looking out of your state where you don’t have reciprocity or residency, look at private school (sometimes other state schools also are flexible even if your not a resident). Lastly, when you get an interview, I hope you all do, know what the school is famous for or unique in before you interview there. They want to know how much you care about there school. You have been chosen for an interview out of many more applications then there are schools you applied to. They (the school) deserve to be thoroughly reviewed.

well it says that she got a 19 AA and 19 TS so if u do actual math that means she had to get a 26 if she got 12 QR. Ha! I outsmarted the guy who goes to UPENN! u obviously got a 12 on ur qr too cuz 12+27 does not average into 19 😛.

sgpa 3.67

my app was mailed out aug 31st and took the dat about 3 weeks ago..so my app is now getting complete...so I hope that is why i haven't heard from those schools. the only school i heard from was case and they put a hold on my app due to my RC score.
 
i have a 16 on pat, 21 AA and a 22 TS. cgpa 3.4, bcp, 3.56, sgpa 3.45

i have absolutely no interviews so far! 🙁 app mailed out 15th august. im really starting to worry now. Im a canadian applicant; wonder if that makes a difference.

oh, and i know columbia has reviewed my file. they told me that they will review it AGAIN! what is the whole deal with that??

has anyone else with a 15th august mailing not recieved an interview invite?

i got a 16 on PAT, 20 AA, and 20 TS with cgpa: 3.54 and sgpa 3.47. my app got mailed out aug 15th too, but i was able to get an interview at NYU. good luck though.

I just got an interview at meharry, my PAT is 15. But TS = 21, and AA = 20
 
why would you defer creighton?

I believe you! Not many schools care about QR. My QR is my lowest section. I got 6 interivews...i've been to 4 already...will be in louisville soon!
