I need 4 hrs of physics with lab, and as I work full time in family medicine (PA x 15 yrs), online seems the way to go. University of New England's course has been mentioned. Tuition, lab kit, books >$2,500. Any less expensive good options out there? Any suggestions appreciated.

You only need 4 hours? Did you take physics before?

No, I have not taken physics before. All I need is 4 hours, and college (algebra-based) physics with lab is acceptable. I took all my prerequisites for Emory PA Program though Health Careers Program at Harvard Extension, so online learning would be new experience for me.

U Buffalo does a decent online physics lecture, but you'd have to arrange for labs elsewhere. Dunno about prices. (FYI state schools often have evening lab sections, so worth checking out your nearest State U as well)

Make sure that the online course would be accepted by wherever you're applying, especially since you're talking about a hard science.

Geeze, $2500 for 1 class is a ripoff. Any community colleges near you or state uni? You don't necessarily have to attend lecture even if you take a course. Lab you have to do in person, but it was the most enjoyable science for me. I went to about 50% of my physics 1 lecture (horrible teaching style) and used the time to work and spent the money on a brilliant physics tutor. I only went to physics 2 lecture out of courtesy and she was going to write a recommendation letter for me.

My friend took one at Iowa lakes community college online it was like 600 and really liked it
