HI,

Anyone that was complete in mid nov hear from any good schools yet? Its been a good month and havent heard much so just curious. Ive been really pissed checking my status online and not seeing anything and checking my mail and not seeing anything; really getting me depressed...

A lot of us have been waiting 2+ months for a number of schools and my feeling is that it's only going to get longer as all of the due dates have passed. Hang tight... all will be good. We're only half way through the interview season.

thing that sucks tho is that we are half way through the interview season; when our interviews come around, if they do, we'll be 3/4 to 4/5 through the season; why the **** do they take so long with this siht; hire one more fu*cker to go through the applications to cut down on the time we all wait; its all bull**** compared to other systems; if you get an interview with a business firm they have you come in like the same week; **** this heres an interview and we'll see you in mid-february

we have to stay with what the system is now ... we'll change it when we become the deans .... maybe 20, 30 yrs later the system will be better, hopefully =)

No, I haven't heard anything, and I was 'complete' everywhere mid-November or later. It is definitely not a boost to my confidence either, although it seems that not very many who were complete in November have received word yet. I, probably like most of us, took the MCAT in August and wanted to get my scores before sending in nearly all of my secondaries. While my chances at non-rolling schools should not theoretically be affected by sitting for the August administration, I have come to realize that the likelihood of gaining acceptance is lower simply because the likelihood of receiving an interview is lower (i.e., more applicants competing for the later interview spots). Interviews are all I want for Christmas 😀 !

damn straight; it would be a nice xmas gift, but im not so sure anyone will be knocking at this point...ive spent so much $ already and now im thinking ill have to go through this again next year; bites....

If I have to go through this next year, I am going to be pretty disappointed 👎. I could only take the August test because I was abroad in April. I ended up doing fairly well though not spectacularly (mid-30s), and I have a solid GPA (3.9+) as well as some nationally recognized honors. My biggest fault could be my lack of clinical experience, although I have 200+ hrs shadowing (domestic and international) experience as well as 40 hrs phlebotomy experience. My phlebotomy experience is not listed on my application, however, because I obtained a different job before submitting any secondaries. Because someone claiming to be from an Adcom wrote on SDN that shadowing does not count as clinical experience, I am beginning to wonder if a dearth of clinical experience is indeed my problem. Of course, sitting for the August MCAT did not help anything either.

how is shadowing not clinical experience? what else are we qualified to do besides shadow? not everyone has time to take an EMT course and be certified.

I was complete at the beginning of november for most schools. except for emory where my check was lost in the mail twice and i just became complete like dec 4, which really sucks. i have received 6 interviews with medicore stats from lower ranked to top ranked med schools. most of the schools emailed me about interviews within 2-4 weeks of my secondary. i also took the august MCAT. I am not really expecting to get anymore interviews. i am waiting to hear from like 10 more schools, and honestly am getting pretty glum at this point b/c i believe that if a school doesn't contact u right away, then it's a long shot. (based on my experiences so far) i know that is not necessarily the case, but the schools that want u, will contact u right away.

i know i should be happy with the interviews that i have gotten, and i truly am. but, my stats are lower than the MCAT averages at these schools and even though, i have gotten interviews, i am not sure whether i am still competitive, even if i have a wonderful interview.

ic; well i was complete mid nov. and if I dont hear anything this week ill start getting antsy; Im not certain about the whole quick turn-around time for interview thing. It could be true for some schools but schools that get tons of apps would be hard pressed to get back to you in 2-3 wks.

i was complete from oct 22 to nov 6 and I've heard nothing yet. I should probably begin reapplication planning.

hang tight guys... don't give up quite yet. nevertheless, it is always a good idea to have a plan b... if anything i can tell you that it is a frequently asked question during interviews (atleast all of the interviews that i went on). good luck and never give up. 👍

My frustration can be seen all over the pre-allo forum!! April MCAT, late LORs. If I have to reapply because of that I will cry. And if they think my athletic training experience is crap, then I will really, really cry. Patient contact every day with that major, it's the reason I decided to apply, and couldn't really volunteer at a hospital with 20 hrs. athletic training per week and 1-3 jobs additionally. Interview at Ros Franklin coming up, but they're on probation, and interview at MCW in Feb, but their class in almost full. 2 rejections.

AAAAAHHHHHHH!!! Sorry. Okay, I promise not to whine on these boards any more. I swear, not on any of the threads. Okay, I'm done. 🙂

I wasn't complete until mid November too, thanks to a foot-dragging LOR writer. In all fairness though, I took the August MCAT, so even if the LOR guy had been quicker, mid Oct would have been the best I could have done. Anyway, I have 2 pre-$econdary rejections, 1 post-$econdary rejection and 1 interview in Feb. There are probably a dozen schools that I have heard nothing from other than that I am complete. I'm not panicking yet; if it gets to be mid Feb and I have yet to hear from a large number of schools, I'll start worrying then.

Though I have no idea for a better, more fair system, I have to say that Rolling admissions sucks. Unless of course I were complete in July...

yah for me it was the late lor writer story which is why im kicking hay right now; i dont know if our worrying is misguided and just building b.c of each other; i mean they have deadlines for a reason and it would be stupid to think that we should not be considered if we were in before that dealine....
