Just wondering if anyone got a phone call/ email from their PD yet? Few of my friends did and one friend who matched at the same program already got a phone call [on friday].

Before the onslaught of terrified posts begin, let's clarify that not all programs contact matched residents right away.

So if you have not heard from your program yet, DO. NOT. PANIC.

Yes I did hear back from PC on Monday and the paperwork will get started this week.

I have a related question on sending an email to PD sort of like a courtesy to show appreciation and say that I'm excited to match at their program. Since PC has already started the communication, would be it ok to send an email via ERAS to PD where he had communicated in the past to send a brief note? I'm thinking other matched applicants at the program may already have sent a quick note to PD and am I the last one who hasn't reached you to PD at my program?

Dude, you really need to dial back the neuroticism. Leave it be.

You have plenty of time over the next 3+ years to show your appreciation by being a good resident.

I was contacted by the pd on match day and was told the coordinator would follow up. I have yet to hear from him yet. Would it be okay if we contacted them? Also if we matched advanced do we sign a contract this year?

Thanks

You matched already, you don't need to keep sending love letters

Feel free to reach out. It's a bit surprising that they haven't inundated you with paperwork yet.

No, you will not sign an Advanced position contract until next year. But no worries, they must offer you a contract as part of the NRMP requirements.

I got contacted via email by the PC a few hours after match results came out and have been in touch with him since for paperwork. In his first email though he mentioned that the PD would get in touch with us personally (implied soon) and asked if we were still using the number they had on file. I replied to this email with an updated cell number but never heard from the PD. OK he's a busy guy. I contacted the PC via phone a few days ago and I asked if he forwarded my number to the PD, and the PC was like "Oh... he has'nt contacted you yet? Let me check..... Yes I forwarded the number the day I got your email."

I'm 95% sure I'm being silly... but I can't help thinking I'm the only guy the dude hasn't called yet....

Chillax. Drink a beer. Fall asleep with badly applied sunscreen on somewhere below the equator.

Fall asleep in Ecuador, or slather your pasty....legs...with sunscreen and pass out, beer in hand, in your yard?

Either way, challenge accepted.

My advanced program has both categorical and advanced spots but I matched advanced. For my advanced program should I be expecting to fill out any paperwork or not until next year? Also how much contact should I expect from my program throughout the year.
