Anyone do EM after completing IM/fellowship?

Hi!
Anyone know of anyone that switched into EM after completing an IM program and subspecialty training?
Would appreciate the insight from anyone that has done this. Since there is a bit of overlap, would one have to go through full EM training or could they an abbreviated training?

Unless things have changed since 2004 .... a full IM residency gets you 6 months credit toward an EM residency. Whether that means you get to graduate 6 months early or have 6 extra electives is program dependent.
