I just took the exam and I feel as though I just took my neurology liscensing exam. WTF.

i truly don't know how i did and i feel that everything i studied wasn't on the test. hardly any pharm, hardly any micro, even the OMM questions were rediculous. does anyone else feel like this cause i'm about to freak out. i memorized first aid, did goljan, studied my butt off for the past few months, knew my bugs and drugs like the back of my hand, and then get hit with all these nit picky neuro questions and nothing of what i actually studied.

if anyone has had a similar experience, where you felt like you were guessing on so many of the questions please let me know. also let me know how things worked out cause i'm gonna freak out. i have no idea how i did.

talked to a friend who took her COMLEX today...she said lots of neuro on hers too. I take mine tomorrow...so I guess we'll see 🙄

I took comlex today and I've got to agree with you on the neuro part. It kicked my ass. I have no idea how I did--I went in feeling like I was going to do fairly well--but that is NOT how I felt when I was leaving!

I seriously think I had about 50-60 neuro questions.

It sucked.

Damn man, you're definitely the exception.

This is the first time I've ever read/heard anyone getting slammed with a disproportionate amount of neuro on COMLEX-I.

For those taking it tomorrow or in the near future, I *HIGHLY* doubt you'll get the same neuro-heavy exam. So try not to freak out.

G'luck guys.

really not trying to scare anyone, but that's how my exam went and i just wanna know if peeps had similar experiences. for future test takers my advice is to be prepared for anything.

they don't give the same/similar exams the next day, huh? 😕

what type of neuro? brainstem lesions? extremity nerve injuries??oh crap!

u know i totally feel u , there was a lot of this crap on the COMSAE, i got so scared. the questions were so weird. and on top of everything, they didn't provide you with the answers or explanations, what a waste of money.
This crap is not even on first aid. However, i recommend you all read the few pages on the kaplan medssentials about the stupid brainstem lesions (lat medullary-pica, midbrain, medial medullary, etc) it does a decent job. However it doesn't explain anything about carotid dissection and others. oh well i dunno

I had less than 5 antibiotics qs. All the micro bug qs were a complete joke. I coulda studied for them in 10 minutes. Neuro was tricky with many situations ive never seen but testing common topics. Some neuro was easy, some was difficult. OMM qs were widely variable, from absolutely no thinking required to orthopedic boards difficult.

what's wrong with the NBOME people giving a test w/ so many questions on orthopedics and weird neuro? what's the point

i guess nbome is testing out all these rediculous questions to see how people do...and to see if they will use these questions in the future. it messes with us big time, but hopefully that means there will be a very generous curve.

who knows? i'm just praying i guessed right, lol...

Unlike the USMLE, I'm pretty sure COMLEX uses a very small pool of question blocks to create their exams from.

Last year was heavy on psych drugs. Looks like this year its neuro (at least for this testing block).
