I was just wondering.... I loved AZ as a whole, but I found the interview process frustrating. I feel like I left there without the ad com getting to "know me" in the least bit! I feel like they just drilled me about current events and I didn't get a chance to get anything else out! Anyone else??

I felt the exact same way. I have heard this from others as well. You are in a group most of the time. This sucks because a group's dynamics is VERY different from reality when they know they are being observed. More one-on-one would be better, but then again, it is their second year doing this. I am sure it will change in the future as they hear this feedback.
I'm sorry you feel that way, guys, but you have to understand that the interview process at Arizona DOES tell them, for the most part, all that they feel they need to know about you to make a valid decision.
I'm passing this feedback on directly to the adcom though, because I do feel it is important to have an excellent interview process. Once again, I'm not saying that Arizona's interview process isn't a good one, but I believe all feedback needs to be heard. Constructive criticism is always beneficial.
(And as always, be a bit careful about what you say on SDN. Arizona's faculty are NOT the only dental school faculty to read SDN threads. That doesn't mean that THIS topic is inappropriate, only that I can forsee certain rants/raves lessening an applicant in the eyes of an admissions committee).

The flip side is that ASDOH got to see a part of me that the other adcoms did not. How I interact in a group, how I express myself on paper as well as orally. I felt like it gave me the chance to show more sides of myself than the sit down and "lets talk" interviews I have had elsewhere. We are going to be going through Dschool as individuals but we will be closely tied to our fellow classmates and profs. How we interact in group dynamics is important. I liked the interaction with my potential fellow classmates. It gave me a small sampling of the type of people who may become my classmates next year. When final decisions of where to attend school are being made it is important to me what kind of classmates I will have. If I get accepted to ASDOH I hope all the other interviewees that were in my group do too 'cause we got along famously and worked together very well IMO. And No, I didn't post this to shmooze up what ItsGavinC just posted. IMHO.🙂
I will be at my Arizona interview on the 9th of december, I think its a tuesday. If anyone else will be there at the same time let me know..im really exited to see what the school is all about and have taken all of your thoughts and opinions carefully. Thanks🙂

I got a rejection letter from Az couple days ago. Too bad, I will miss a chance to experience their new dental school's concept there. Great school and potential then.
Larry, I'm sorry to hear that. I really enjoyed hanging out with you. Based on the sheer numbers of things, it seems that AZ is a VERY difficult school to get into. They only interview ~12% of the applicants, and then they only accept ~ 1/3 of those.
