Anyone else not submit yet?
Started by turnandburn
I'll be submitting the day before. My PS is still a work in progress and have 2 outstanding evaluations I would prefer to see up before I click the button.
can you still check on your evals after you submit? I'm still waiting on one of mine. She said it's done...just proofing it!😱

Your answer may be in this post: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showpost.php?p=7175290&postcount=70
I would think that if you can still make changes to your eLORs, then you can check the status, too! I wouldn't know though, I haven't submitted it yet!

Call/visit them.. remind them of the due date! It's OK.
This is the second time I am applying, and I asked the same professor to fill out an ELOR...but last year he waited the day it was due to submit it!! All of my other evaluators submitted there's but him! I just have to keep reminding him...it's scary. Either he puts too much thought into it or waits until last minute...lol i'll never know
Ok, good to know I'm not alone in procrastinating!!

Yeah I'm on the list too...it's all there...including all 3 eLORs...I'm just getting trigger shy so to speak. I'd feel a lot better about packing up the application in a nice big envelope and taking it to the post office...that gives me a better feeling than hitting a button.
I'll probably submit this weekend...probably...(but I've been saying that for a few weeks now!)
🙂

Well, technically it's not due until Oct 2nd @ noon. 😉
I know but I like to follow their advice and have it in at least two weeks early... this is severely procrastinating from my initial goal! 😱
Wont be submitting till the day before, after I take the GRE for the second time. Waiting on two LOR's that are supposed to be done but not yet submitted.

I found out today by calling VMCAS, you can submit your application before taking the GRE. You just need to enter it as planned and then make sure your scores are sent to each school by that school's individual deadlines.
But if anyone has any questions, I'd call to ask or confirm whatever anyone "tells" you....VMCAS has been nothing but helpful (for me, at least)!!

that makes me feel so much better! but i think i'll still be submitting on the 30th...around 20 min after i take the GRE. lol. im soo happy that i'm not the only one that's turning it in last minute. it worries me that the site will go down or crash or something.
AND i still have to tune up my personal statement. why can't they all just meet us and pick us based on how nice and hard working we are?
haha i told myself i'd have everything done by the 15th. THAT didn't happen!
now i have everything done but the PS, and not a single word of it written, although I have some pretty good ideas starting to bubble around in my head.
so, now my goal is to submit this weekend. i really need to get it done b/c i have a million o-chem tests coming up and i can't do o-chem and applications on top of each other-- the last five weeks of doing so has been brutal.
the end is in sight!

I submitted even though I am still waiting on one eLOR. However, the evaluator hasn't even opened the link or anything yet - in spite of verbal and emailed reminders. I am kind of annoyed at him, but not too stressed because out of my 5 evaluations, his is the least important to me.
I assume that, if on Oct. 2, VCMAS still has one open eval, they just close it down? I don't need to delete it, right?

I haven't finished my PS yet and am completely freaking out. My WES evaluations are supposed to go out today and my veterinarian evaluator hasn't turned in her elor. 🙁
I don't know how to go about telling her to submit it already. Is an email or a phone call the way to go?😕
I barely have my supplementals started.
I know I'll finish the applications and send them out. I just don't want to have worked all this time towards making myself a good candidate and not conveying that in my application.

Has your evaluator even recieved the link? You might want to double check if you aren't sure! I had trouble with 2 of my 3 even getting the link- had to have VMCAS send one link twice and the other three times!!! What the hell???
I'm definately on the late-submitters list too. 😛
Procrastination + Perfectionism = bad combination!
Actually, I got everything done pretty early except for my personal statement. After telling myself I was going to finish it by Sept 1 so I can get lots of feedback, I litterally started it about 2 weeks ago. 🙄 I guess I just need lots of time to think about these things before I attack them.
So, now I'm finally happy with the personal statment and everything else seems to be in order, but I am stuck on the explanation statement.
Can't quite decide what to explain and what to leave out. AND how to explain it without sounding like I'm just making excuses
Anyone else having an explanation statment melt-down?

Yep. I have a rough draft but I don't like it yet, lol. But I do have my personal statement to where I like it, though!

I knew I was going to freak out over my explanation statement because I have a hunch it will be the make or break aspect of my application (my situation is basically that Davis accepted me last year so they've already deemed me qualified...it's just if they want to give me another chance and forgive me for declining acceptance the first time around). So, I thought about what I wanted to say for months (pretty much since the day I declined last spring!). But then, when I sat down to write it, I just did it. I put it all down on paper in one shot, then went to bed. Woke up the next morning, spent 30 minutes proofreading (and set a timer so I'd hold myself accountable), and then was finished. It was the most relaxing way ever to go about. I knew what I needed to say and I said it...instead of saying it, deciding I didn't like it, resaying it, etc. It also helped that I've gotten to rehearse it in verbal form a million times over the last few months as every person that has ever known me has reacted when they found out I wasn't headed to vet school this fall "WHAT?! why NOT?!"...made getting the perfect wording of it all down in a snap 🙂
All to say that once you know what you need to say, just say it, and then trust yourself. It's a good feeling.
