Only since starting medical school and living on financial aid. I worked full time up through undergrad so this is my first experience with school debt. It freaked me out at first......but you get used to PB&J sandwiches.

my plan for when i need to stay overnight on interviews: find people who live in the area and ask to stay the night. i.e.- got a friend of a friend who lives in chicago?? time to get chummy.

Every morning I eat my cereal with a fork so I can save the milk for the next day....this way one bowl of milk lasts me for about a week.
By saturday, the milk starts to cuddle so I save it and pray it turns into yogurt or cottage cheese so I can take it work for snack.

Whats worse is that I am a full time student and I can't find a part time job. So I am just constantly losing money. I have no income. Every once in a while my parents will be nice and send me $40, which I have to make last for at least a month.

Yeah, heard that. That's been my situation too, more or less. It's really hard coming up with the bucks for an interview when you're having a hard time scraping up enough money for food, especially when you live a long way from all the places you're interviewing.

LOL, I've been so poor that even now i've a job, its only to pay off all the debts I had while i was poor, so i'm still poor, and b4 i know it'll be aug and i'll be even more in debt 🙁

do you actually think the people commenting in these forums are normal?? hahahaha. i hope that you are not that blind. anyway, my comment was not written solely for the purpose for turning non-believers to the Lord. it was meant to address the topic at hand. the verses that i wrote have worked everytime for myself and others that i know. they are literally time-proven techniques to stay in the money. seriously.

I have no idea how people in college can afford this. I have a full time job, having graduated >3 years ago, and my wife's income to suplement mine. Even so I have spent every spare penny I had, and a few that I didn't have.
Money's only value is how you spend it though, and it is hard to imagine a better use.

True that. Some people invest in better things than others. After reading these posts, it's nice to know that the reality of medical school isn't all glamour. I've been an engineer for 3 years and have saved up enough to pay for school...and though I saved it, I feel as if it was a wise investment.
