Hello all. I know this will sound strange but I have already received several secondary applications from schools before my AMCAS has been processed-- I am still waiting on a transcript from one of my schools. This just struck me as strange particularly given that I have not taken the MCAT yet either. Now, unfortunately, some of these deadlines are coming due near the MCAT. ARRGHH. I thought it took 6 weeks usually from the date you submitted your AMCAS? For me it wasn't even a week.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Don't I wish. I doubt they could love me without an MCAT score (taking it in August) or tabulated GPA (although I guess they could add up the columns on the electronic version).

Are the schools that you received secondaries from schools that screen primaries? If not, then they may have just downloaded your contact info from AMCAS (it's immediately available, before your actual application is processed) and sent you the secondary to get started on. There are a couple of "unscreened secondary" threads on here if you want to compare schools.

actually that happened to me and i am in exactly the same position you are (waiting on a transcript). i got secondaries from AECOM, gw, buffalo, rochester, and jefferson. AECOM and buffalo told me it was okay to go ahead and submit my secondary before my AMCAS was verified. the admissions officer at jefferson didn't really answer my question over email. gw told me to wait til AMCAS was verified. and i just got rochester today so i'm not sure yet. good luck to you!

Schools can get all preliminary info w/o being processed....just fyi. The schools that you are getting secondaries from right now are schools that do NOT screen.

I got an email secondary from U Conn the day after I submitted my application... and I wasn't even active until a week later.

They do it to get your money.
