Anyone else submit 4 LORs?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I sent 4.

Somehow I got 5 LORs all together, 3 attendings volunteered to write for me. What was I supposed to do...Say no? Now I've got this pile of LORs I'm not sure what to do with.

After speaking with the PD at my school, I decided to submit 4 LORs to every program. Anyone else?

What made you decide to submit 4?

I have a lot of LORs (7-8) to choose from. I originally submitted 3. This past week, a big name finally submitted his LOR to my school. I had all but given up on that letter. My PD thought that the big name would help, and that programs don't care if you submit 4 letters. It can only help your application.

I submitted 4 letters mostly due to the fact that I got "click happy" while submitting my ERAS application. It was much easier to click all 4 boxes instead of just 3!

In hindsight, it probably didn't matter either way. I've got interviews at all of my top choice programs so if it was a mistake, it didn't hurt too bad. Unless the fourth letter is glaringly weak, it's one more way to help programs evaluate your application. The trick is to send 4 equally "strong" letters.

A very strong letter came in for me last week and I had it uploaded ASAP. I feel great about that decision. You should too.

I was also toldby the chairman to send 4 LOR's
