Anyone else thinking about HPSP?

I usually see a couple threads in the larger forum regarding the pros and cons of a HPSP scholarship. I started thinking about it a couple years ago and thought it was a good idea since I was always interested in some form of military service. I received a pamphlet in the mail a couple days ago and I thought since I will be applying next June, that it's something I should seriously start thinking about again.

I was just wondering if any other URMs have thought about, applied, received or did not apply or rejected the scholarship for any specific reasons? I know the army like much of society is predominantly caucasian and male, and being a black female and an immigrant, I am looking for opinions from others, esp. women.
Any thoughts?

Consult the military medicine forum. This topic has been done to death. Being a female minority is a non issue and would only help you since the military likes to boost their diversity cred.
