Anyone Else Waitlisted At University Of Michigan?

I got my wait list letter from University of Michigan today, just about a week or so after my interview. I wonder if hearing so quickly is bad, good, or most likely doesnt mean anything. Anyone else waitlisted at U of M?

I got waitlisted back in October. Haven't heard anything since. Anyone get in off the waitlist yet?

Anyone accepted off of the waitlist yet? I too am stuck on there.

Since their letter stated that they will be done reviewing interviewed applicants in March and can tell us our relative positions in April, should we just assume that they won't take people off before April?

I interviewed on 2/7, and was recently waitlisted, but I pretty much expected this based on what I was told. When I was there, admissions basically told us by that time they had already offered 300+ acceptances for a class of about 175 students. So, pretty much everyone that interviewed that day was told that they would receive either a rejection or a waitlist because they were unable to hand out many more accpetances. We were also told that this wasn't necessarily bad news since their waitlist is very active and that 1/3 of the class would come off the waitlist. Letters of interest (and intent) and updates were encouraged.

I looked through last year's applicants on the forums, and many were in the same situation. Many got off of the waitlist by early summer.

i got interviewed in mid Jan and then got waitlisted in mid February. They told me over the phone that the list won't get ranked until beginning of April. That is all I know.

Does anyone else think that sounds like a rediculoulsy high number? They could have sent out close to two offers for every spot they have in their class. And another third will get off? That makes me very nervous. I guess I'm just trying not to get my hopes up. 😛

I think their website said you could call and find out your status after March 30th.

I'm hoping a lot of the people currently planning on going there will get into their top choice non-rolling admissions school any day now. 😉

No idea. Why don't you call the school on Monday and ask? They said at the Feb. interviews that they would let us know the first week of March.
