Has anyone else found themselves wasting ALOT of time the last few days before the test? I don't feel anywhere near done but I just can't seem to get anything done, I'm burnt! 😱

Anyone wanna share so I don't feel like a loser who's given up? 🙁

hey SB- preparations before the final days before step 1 have been much different than i had anticipated. it has been very hard to focus lately (girls suck), and i feel as if i know JACK! the closer i get, the less i feel that i know. to make it worse, i did really well on the released items which gives me even less motivation to study... sooooo, you're not alone! don't stress, it's just another hoop to jump through, you're going to do fine, and laugh at these days 20 years from now! 👍

Well, I took mine a couple of weeks ago, and I too alternated between squandering and panicking the last few days before the exam. But during the last two days before my exam, I took nothing but First Aid (and sunglasses) to the beach and to a comfy coffee shop with my boyfriend and his dissertation, and casually reviewed pharm and biochem for a few hours (which cram okay but don't stick for long periods of time, for me). That was actually kinda relaxing and I think it was satisfactory for me.

i would not stress out too much..i think we all felt that way before the test. I know that I had every intention of studying up until test day but i could not do it. I was burnt out plain and simple. I did manage during the last fews days to reread FA Biochem, Anat, and BS before finally stopping 2 days before the test. during those 2 days i hung out at home, played some neglected PS2(which collected an impressive layer of dust during the year) and went to the pool.

I feel the same way .I have not studied anything since last night and I have my exam on wednesday. I scheduled to review 3 subjects in last three days but that is not happening. Iam sooooooooooooo tired and burnt out. I just want an end to my misery.....well at least for few days and then off to my surgery rotation for some more fun 🙄
BTW did I mention that I Love med school 😛

i must agree...and must admit that my last few days before the test were horrible...one key i think is not to take the test after your friends...i took it a few days after all mine and it was horrible...i was very unmotivated and had a horrible feeling in my stomach for those 2 or 3 days after they finished and before when i took the test....through all of the schooling we have gone through and the tough tests taken i have never felt panic until step 1.....once i sat down for the test everything calmed down...i think we all peak a few days before we actually take the test...so you are not alone...hopefully we all survive..keep on keepin on -dc

I don't think I've ever looked forward to a day like I'm looking forward to test day! I'm am soooo ready for this to be done... for better or for worse!

the build up to test day is far worse than test day....trust me, you will be fine once the test begins.

I took an hour and a half walk the night before, and completely cleared my head of all the negative thoughts and neurotic crap that's been building up for the last two years. It put everything in perspective. Woke up feeling great in the morning.

an hour and a half of the most intense cardio that you've EVER DONE will also aid in clearing your head, and will help you fall asleep & feel refereshed in the AM... 👍 (damnit, i'm addicted to these stupid thumbs up/downs, faces... what the f is this ?!?!)
