my real score was 3 pts higher than any of my practice tests. i seriously think part of that was luck in that i got forms with stuff i was strong on. it can totally happen. 👍

Could you clarify what score range we're talking about because it is easier to improve 3-4 points from a 25 than it is a 33.

my highest summer score was around a 27. i got a 31 on the real thing. I think what really helped me out was a lot more genetics was on the bs section, instead of orgo - and the VR was kinder to me as well.

I was pulling a consistent 24-26 on practice and ended up with a 30.

anyone getting consistent 33s and end up with 36+ on the real thing? That is what I was trying to get at.

I think it's easier to numerically "improve" 3 points from a 36+ (since the curve is bell-shaped at this score range, the more questions you get correct, the greater your numerical scores go up).

However, by studying, it is easier to improve 3 points from a 25. But we're not dealing with studying here.

well, i think how well you handle stress means a lot too..i focused much more when i knew the test was for real..also, the luck of the draw can really hurt you or help you , i.e, if the practice tests uve been taking cater to your weaknesses in a specific section, but the real test has a lot of what you're strong at, of course your score will be better. plus , its hard to predict whats going to be on the "actual" MCAT as there are only a handful of aamc prac. tests out there...also, i agree that its easier to improve from a 26 to a 30, going from a 10/8/8 to a 10/10/10 is very possible. as far you guys reaching for greatness, i can imagine its pretty tough to go from a 31 to a 34, especially when sometimes missing 1 question drops you to a full point on the VR....but then again, most people i know who score in the high 30's never broke 35 on their practice tests....

i know someone who went from a ~25 best practice score to a 35 real deal. no joke. needless to say he was rather pleased with the whole thing. perhaps a little too pleased actually.

I have 2 friends that got 33's. Both took the Kaplan class. Both did not average that high on their practice exams.

Truly inspiring, definitely a confidence booster, keep them coming.
I'm one of those people who is scoring 26-30, and those couple of points will really help, but I guess we will see.

I just got 12/12/10 (ps/bio/vr) on aamc 6R

Anyone experience going up like 2 points from 33-34 range?

I just got 11, 11, 11 on 7R,

still have 8r and 9r to go this week. I'm getting 1 or 2 questions away from 12s on both science sections so obviously I might get lucky on test day. Anyone heard of someone going from averaging 11s on the science parts and getting a 13 on the real thing?? =)

Yeah, seriously it's just like two-three questions between 13 and 12, etc...

I guess you could go easily from 11 to 13 and (unfortunately) 13 to 11 just as well.

Last spring I signed up for a Princeton Review course but totally ended up slacking off and only took two full practice tests: one at the beginning in January (~25) and one a few weeks before the real test (30). When I took the real thing, it seemed so much harder than the practice tests, and I was sure I scored in the mid 20s. but when I got my scores... 35Q! My PS and BS increased a lot from the practice tests, but the VR actually decreased one point from my best score (13-->12). I just wanted to share my story and let you all know that good surprises do happen. Good luck everyone!

wow! This is definitely encouraging me right now!!!! Thanks! That is right about my range and I would be thrilled with a 30!

I got an average of 28 on my practice tests including the AAMCs as well, but I scored a 32 on the real one! Just go in with the right state of confidence, it will help, no doubt. the human mind is powerful and can be controlled to allow you to do better on the real day!

Good Luck!

You beat me. My highest was a 28 on the Kaplan practices, but I scored a 31 on the real thing. Everyone that I've talked to has scored equal to or better than his or her Kaplan practice scores. Good luck this Saturday!

Confidence is the key for slaying the MCAT. I was scoring in the 33-35 range on my practice tests and pulled a 38 on the real deal. You just have to go into it believing that you can answer every question on the test.

Yo I sure hope I turn out to be one of those success stories.

If I can be 3-4 points higher than my average, I'd be pretty happy.
