He's pretty hardcore and militant about cardiologist not even looking at CT/MRI. Seems like cardiologists either support well-trained doctors or collaborations but that mad-man out of Thomas Jeff seems to think a 6-week review course in cardiac physio and pharm will be enough for his future Cardiac Radiologist to be wonderful heart doctors.

Is the "Manhattan Project" that the radiology guys started a few years back for CT/MRI still active as well? (I know, cute name)

What's the point of this post?

What if people were familiar with him? Why would that even matter?

A little more about the issue. A lot of it has to do with over utilization and self-referral, as well as the need for a radiologist to over read other parts of the thoracic cavity (2-bills instead of 1).

There is a lot about containing costs these days and recent news headlines talk about how when a physician owns or part owns a scanner he/she is several times more likely to order imaging than a physician who does not have a financial stake. They have singled out cardiac nuclear imaging as well as orthopedic MRI especially.

Owning your own imaging machine sounds pretty stupid in this day and age...it sounds like a sinkhole.
