Are the people that have already received interviews from BU primarily from the east coast? I applied very early and sent my photo and check along time ago. I was wondering whether the east coast students get to interview first, and maybe CA applicants get their apps looked at later.

I also know that BU conducts regional interviews for students in CA. Can anybody who has been to these, tell me what they are like? And when and where did you get interviewed?

im in your boat too - from CA, applied early, sent in check/photo - and have not heard from them =)

Californian here in the same situation as you guys. Tell me more about this regional interview process. Aside from not seeing the school, that sounds good.

My bro had a regional interview in Miami last year. He was interviewed for less than half an hour. They asked him simple questions, and it was easier than any other interview he had last year.
as far as I know, Regional interviews are conducted for highly qualified students only.

Wait...I thought you only send in a check and photo when an admission officer contacts you. So far, no one has contacted me.

Has anyone heard from Harvard?

here in cali also, havent heard anything. they cashed my check last week so hopefully soon.

cali here too. havent heard diddly squat. roger.

Anyone who is granted an interview can partake in the regional interviews. It is completely up to the student.

I'd recommend visiting the school though. The interviews are just as laid back, but you get to see the city, school, students, and faculty.

Do you think BU will take notice if you choose to do a regional interview? They
might think this student isn't serious about the school and merely using it as a
backup. Because obviously an applicant from the westcoast who invests the time and money to fly out to Boston to actually see the school and its students is more serious about making BU his/her #1 choice.

It could have some effect. That was my thinking when I chose to visit the school. I know a couple people who chose to do the regional interview and didnt get accepted. However, there are also quite a few students in my class that chose the regional interviews. Its hard to say, but if it were up to me, I would definitely make a trip out to Boston to interview.

For those that have not seen boston, its worth it!

Well, if BU happens to be your #1 choice, then I suggest you make the effort. If not, then I say just go to the regional one.

Oh my god. I just checked my email and got the BU interview! It's on Jan. 6 though.... 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

That is super late. With that said, should I even go to Boston or just try to go for the regional one? If i'm interviewing in Jan, my chances of acceptance has dropped dramatically I would think?

I mean, they send out first batch of acceptance in December!! Argh. What to do what to do....

I got an interview invite today via email. My interview date is December 16, which I can't make it for sure. I don't know how nice and flexible they are about rescheduling interview dates but the week of December 12-16 is finals week at my school. I have two finals on the 16th. Finals are not rescheduleable.
