To the OP (original poster, if you're wondering) 32 hours is about 2 semesters (assuming that you take 16 credits each semester)-- so yes, it is quite a bit of work, but then again, so is the whole "going into medicine" thing.
"pre-allo" refers to those premed students that are considering the allopathic medical schools where you receive your MD. There's also a "pre-osteo" forum for premed students discuss matters pertaining more towards osteopathic medical schools where you get a DO. The difference b/t MD and DO is largely a matter of philosophy (but there are tons of discussions if you want to learn more). In the end though, MDs and DOs are both doctors that have the same rights and privileges when it comes to securing a patient's health (this is a very brief synopsis- again, there are tons of details in other discussions).
So- pre-allo and pre-osteo students are premeds working on their 4yr degree. It's just a minor distinction.
