I'm a final year student at Sydney- in fact I finish next Friday 😀
* Best place to buy books is probably in America- they are much more expensive here
* I recommend living near campus- if husband and dog are coming along then on campus wont be possible, if they are not coming, I lived at SUV for 3.5 years, its a good place to live and the five bedroom apartments are good value for the area (www.suv.com.au). Off Campus I recommend areas such as Newtown, Alexandria, Glebe, and Camperdown, as well as Leichhardt. You can look for rental places on www.domain.com.au

* Loan wise I am no help, because I am a local student so the government here lends me all the cost of the course and I pay it back later. But search the threads for previous posts as there was been a lot about loans people have taken out.
* Internships wise, our final year placements involve at least 10 four week placements, of which three are at the uni's small animal clinic, two at the large animal clinic, one in small animal private practice, one in private mixed practice, one in government practice, and then two electives of your choice.
* I think the course is good, though I sort of wish the theory and practice were mixed a bit more- rather than having four years of almost entirely theory and then one year of entirely practical
* As far as contacting students, you could try joining the Sydney University Veterinary Society group on Facebook.
