I haven't heard anything from them and i was wondering if anyone else has gotten their secondary or should i call the admissions committee?

I've read somewhere on here that they just started mailing things out today. Check yer mailboxes! 😀

Yep, they answered an e-mail I sent them about this today. They were sent out today so expect it soon. It's about time they got those new letterheads that say "Drexel" on it instead of "MCPH."

anyone else not to happy with the name drexel vs. mcp hahnemann? maybe it's just me.

anyway, i just wanted to say that it's only of the few schools in which even my unverified app hasn't been transmitted yet.

no offense to mcph'ers, but i would be surprised if drexel was anyone's top choice school (unless your spouse goes there). on the other hand, i'm sure it will improve with time.

I think the name change is fine. Drexel as an undergraduate school isn't bad. I think they wanted to stray from the bad reputation they were labeled with after being in the red financially a few years ago. The name change gives them a fresh start. Plus, its really not a bad school at all if you had the chance to visit it.

No...I've heard absolutely nothing...weird huh...oh well, gotta finish the other 11 apps...... oh joy! 🙂

same here. Hopefully they're curriculum isn't as behind as their admissions office seems to be.

they dont transmit electronically, dont hold your breath. amcas sent an email in june or something, that some schools would only be taking the paper copies that amcas mails out to schools. the list of schools includes einstein, loyola, drexel, and some others. i've already sent my secondary to einstein and people already have interviews there, and loyola has sent out, so dont worry. drexel is going to take a while because they fill a huge class and have tons of waitlist movement.

you know, a friend of mine told me this the other day and i was surprised....apparently not everyone got the e-mail from AMCAS saying that certain schools had decided to only accept paper apps and therefore would not show up on the "dynamic welcome page" as transmitted. AMCAS said they would take care of the submission of the paper versio of the app to those schools, though tufts still wanted a paper copy from us. that's why there's no transmission dates. you only got the e-mail if you had applied to schools that were on that list and, i think, if you were verified before mid-July, but i don't know about that for certain.

So here it is:

Dear Applicant,

Our records indicate that in your AMCAS application to the 2003
entering class you designated one or more of the following medical
schools:

*University of California, San Francisco
*Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University
*Loyola University of Chicago
*University of Missouri-Columbia
*Medical University of South Carolina
*Tufts University
*MCP Hahnemann University School of Medicine

These schools have opted to receive only paper applications (shipped by
AMCAS) and application files made available electronically (via FTP),
but not to receive applications electronically via the AAMC Data
Transmission Utility (DTU).

***As a result, no "transmission date" on either your dynamic welcome
page or your printed application will be listed for these schools. Do
not be concerned; once your application completes processing, your
application will be made available to these schools.

To check the status of your application, consult your application's
dynamic Welcome page, write to AMCAS at [email protected], or call us at
(202) 828-0600.

Best wishes throughout the 2003 medical school admissions process.

Sincerely,

AMCAS

OK, still nothing from Drexel despite being told they are sending stuff. Anyone get one yet? I'm restless because this is one the last one I have left to do and I want to be done with secondaries already.

i don't think drexel wants new students this year. 🙄

The economic analysis came back showing that accepting students was not profitable. So to turn things around from the MCPH days, they decided not to accept any 😉

i'm a post-bacc student at mcp/drexel, and the word on the street is they haven't got the new letterhead that says drexel instead of mcp hahnemann and that's why no one has received secondaries...pretty crazy, huh?

patience people, patience. 🙂

I guess their secretaries would get all confused if they got supplementals back from MCPH instead of Drexel. LOL
