hey guys,
I'm a junior undergrad..applying this time round (UIC is my top choice) and I was wondering what to do. If you can help me out, that'll be great. 👍

Basically, I have a low gpa 3.07 and so I wanted to apply as soon as application comes out MAY 17th since UIC is rolling admission.
But just recently, I talked to Ann Shorrock about my situation ( i have good extracurriculars, my gpa's improved since sophomore year-screwed my gpa in freshman year-, and i'm scoring upper 20's in practice DAT exams-i'm taking the real thing on june 3rd) and she said to wait until summer school (orgo II and genetics) grades come out and then send in my application to AASDAS which would be early August. it takes AASDAS 2 months to process..meaning UIC is gonna receive my application mid October.

I'm really confused as when to apply that would benefit my greater chance of getting in.

What do you guys think i should do? :scared:

appreciate it... 😀

First, make sure you do well on the DATs

Second, apply to more schools

Third, send your application in ASAP and then just send in an updated transcript when you get the summer grades

Good luck.

Are you sure UIC still has rolling admissions?
I say apply as soon as possible and do well on your DATs

Even if you dont get into UIC, dont worry....not a big loss. I've done 4 years here and getting out on Sunday.. thank god. SIU is a lot cheaper and pretty good too. You'll get in somewhere with your stats.

Good Luck

I would say apply ASAP.
At the same time, I think it's just as important to have a competitive DAT score & GPAs.
UIC received my application in mid-Dec 🙁 , I had my interviewed on 1/31 🙂 , and accepted on 2/27 😀 .
Wish you the best luck. 😉

UIC does have rolling admissions.

Alot of dental schools require that you send your transcript directly to them but I don't know if UIC requires that.

I agree with everyone, apply as soon as possible, send your updated transcripts to AADSAS, and score as high as possible. UIC is very competitive and also unfair in selecting applicants. So the better you score on your DAT the greater your chance will be.
Good Luck
