I had a few questions regarding the interest rate for anyone else who has gone with the feds.
I called their customer service twice today and got two different answers.
Is the interest rate locked in at the time I submitted my consolidation loan app (May 17th). Or will it be locked in at the time my lender verifies my loans and current interest rates?
It has been 30+ days since I submitted my consolidation application and they have not heard from my lender. I contacted my lender twice today and they have sent the statement on June 7, yet, the feds have not received it. I spent about 2 hrs on the phone and got next to nothing accomplished. Hold time for consolidation issues is 15-20 min!!
I worry about getting a pre-July 1st interest rate is locked in.
If anyone has any info on Federal Direct Consolidation Loan Service, or has personal experience, please let me know. I start my residency orientation this week, and I don't have much time to spend listening to elevator music on the phone!!!!
