Anyone going to the PGA? It starts this friday at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. Literally one of my favorite memories as a resident.

It will be great to be a gas passer in NYC next weekend.

Stay away from the restaurants, I don't have my reservations yet.

Hope this won't discourage you from coming, but I will be at the Oxford University Press booth (they are 'repping' for Cambridge) for the entire exhibition time - Sat & Sun 9-3, Mon 9-1.

I did so @ ASA (and Euroanesthesia in Munich) and was very well received @ both mtgs.

Stop by and say hi. You don't even have to tell me your screen name.🙂

If you buy a book of mine AND want it autographed, I would be honored to do so.

You might even push my royalty up to 3 cents an hour for my 3 years of effort.🙄

Bold in the cold (NYC) brrrrr!

Do they have a booth big enough to accommodate both you AND your ego?

My sentiments exactly. Mr. Aghast1, you are sucking the life out of this forum. I am oh so tired of seeing your crappy comments on damn near every thread. Please give us a break. 😱

That's Dr. aghast1 to you.😀

FU (follow up?) does not stand for Felix Unger (The Odd Couple) but it does remind one of the couple of odd birds like yourself on the list.

If you don't care for my posts, don't read them.+pity+

Sucking the life out this forum? Doubtful, because of all of my web site traffic from this list - thank you again.

Just because you have nothing worthwhile to say on many threads, doesn't mean I don't.

Fairy tales can come true but they won't happen for you 'cause you're not young at heart.

Actually, my ego has come down in size since 2004 when my publisher informed me that I was chosen first among 40,000 US anesthesiologist to write and edit Anesthesia in Cosmetic Surgery.:clap::clap:

If (and when) you manage to make a significant contribution for better patient outcomes and succeed in getting it published, I'd like to think you'd be mighty proud. Chances of you making a significant contribution are about slim to none.😆

I will not be in the booth but BY the booth as I am not employed by either Cambridge or Oxford, not because of my ego size.

My presence is merely a support role. Many get off on having a copy of my book signed by me.
It ain't braqggin' if it's true: Better published PONV outcomes.

If that really upsets you, cry me a river.+pity+

You are still welcome to stop by the Oxford booth.

Have a nice day,🙂

We had this guy in our group who was such a pain. He told all these stupid jokes. And he was the only one who would laugh at them. Once you saw him coming up to you, you knew that you were in for like five bad jokes.

The real funny part was if he actually told you a good joke. Because you were in store for another ten jokes. So whenever Bert came up to you, people would say don't smile, don't even acknowledge him or he'll never leave.

Here comes Bert.........

Putting you on my ignore list is about as effective as not looking at the factory polluting the river - all of the downstream debris and wreckage is still there. Every thread you derail with one of your self-aggrandizing, poorly formatted, irritating bits of troll-fu produces a cascade of equally pointless followups, which the ignore filter does not cut out.

Seriously, with all due respect, you're a private practice anesthesiologist with decades of experience, and this endless sermon about ketafol and BIS monitors is the best you can contribute? Weak.

you go with what you've got

i got persistence and better, published, reproducible PONV outcomes

so shoot me🙄

sorry, no ketafol, dude :beat:

hypnosis first (propofol to BIS<75), then dissociation (50 mg ketamine):beat:

what part of mixing the two drugs did you fail to grasp?

sorry you didn't get the point

You mistake disinterest with a lack of understanding. I get it. I think we all get it - and furthermore, I think we all recognize the advantages and limitations of the technique.

Naturally, I can only speak for myself, but I'm tired of hearing about it. You're up to 100 posts, after joining the forum less than two weeks ago, and almost every one of them is about ketafobis. Give it a rest.

I bet the few women you are lucky enough to encounter are "aghast" when they find out what it is you're overcompensating for by repeatedly singing your own praises on an internet forum...

Timeout, you rock! You know it's free for students with a valid ID.
I have to shell out several hundred. It's the only part that blows about the whole weekend.

My school sent out invites so I think a few students will be attending! I'm pretty psyched...

I am definitely going Saturday and Sunday as a medical student rep...Im looking forward to it!!!

i will be going this weekend as well. Any tips on how to make it most beneficial as a student attending the assembly? What to look out for, what sessions are most informative? thinkgs of that nature.

thanks

Just interact with the people you meet around you. there are several resident functions that should be fun. The panel discussions are great, and if it gets boring, then pick yourself up and go into another panel.....and then there are the vendors displays.

Just stay away from the Oxford books display, I hear there is a raving lunatic who is trying to change the face of anesthesia with some silly book and a plethora of Smilies🙂🙁😳😀😉😛😎🙄😡😱😕

Oh, by the way, don't drink too much at lunch!

numbmd et al.

I'll be there, as a lowly med student. On the bright side, PGA is footing the entire bill.

are there any sponsored outings for residents during sunday night? PM me.

I will be there as well presenting a few medically challenging case reports.

feel free to visit oxford's booth, won't be there, you guys made me:cry:

acutally, changed my mind 'cause i'm a fair weather friend. we are still in sandals and short sleeves here👍

btw, how could i change the face on anything if commenting list members insist have done nothing original?

kindly cite a previous publication containing the concept of hypnosis first, then dissociation before: Hypnotic doses of propofol block ketamine induced hallucinations. Plast Reconstr Surg 91:196,1993. Guit 1991 does not count, it's TIVA not MAC.

if you can't find one, i would happily accept an anesthesia record demonstrating the concept.

if you can't do either:laugh:, just keep attacking me personally+pity+

stay warm.
