My top choice for dental school is University of Maryland!! I was just wondering if any of you who were accepted can give me any advice about what Maryland is looking for, the application/interview process, etc. I really want to try and contact someone in the admissions office to get an idea of my chances and find out if there is anything I should do to strengthen my application....but who exactly should I contact??? I couldnt find a particular name on their website...Also, did any of you go in beforehand and try to meet with someone from the admissions staff??

Oh and a random question- I have shadowed two dentists, however I do not have a letter of recc from either of them. Do you think thats ok? Or does Maryland really look for a recc from a dentist?

And if anyone is willing to post their stats....It would help a lot! Thanks so much!!

check out www.predents.com for the stats, i think just about all of us who will start D1 this August have put our stuff up there.

i think a rec from a dentist would be pretty valuable. i've only been to the interviews though, haven't heard the adcom discussions, so there's no way i can tell you what is most important to them.

Patricia Meehan would probably be a good person to contact at the school, she's the director of admissions. i'm sure her contact info is easy to look up on the site: www.dental.umaryland.edu/

good luck!
