Anyone got 30 on any/all parts of DAT?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Streetwolf was up there, but no 30's. I remember seeing one or two 30's....but never any one person who got more than 1 30, let alone all 30's.

Just curious and also what did you do to get those scores.

i got 29 in ochem and that was already 100 percentile. but, one of my friends got 30 in pat

I know someone that has called harvard before and ask them have they ever recieve anyone with 30 on ALL sections and they said no. they have recieve people with 30 on one or two sections but NEVER all sections...

It never happens that someone does 30 in all sections. Single 30's do pop up which are nice, they bring up the average.

I don't think it's even possible to get 30s on all the sections, it seems a lot of 100% percentiles are in the 27-29 range.

I got 3 27's on my DAT and two of them were in the 100th percentile...

can I borrow your brain?? 😀 especially for the PAT and reading which sucked the most for me! lol..

I happen to agree with Armor. A 27 is already good enough for 100th percentile. Don't know if it's even possible to get a 30.

Hmm, interesting. As far as I know a 27 on bio is 100th percentile, at least for my version of the exam. . .

you got a 27 on bio? You only apply to NYU??? why not columbia?

 , I wish I can just apply to one school and get in...

hmm.. I'm curious about this too. According to the stats from Adea... people do get 30s in the DAT. I could be wrong, but I think the % of people with 30 for their AA was like.. 0%. Since AA is the average of all scores it stand to reason that no one got straight 30....

Did any read those stats from ADEA as well? I can't seem to find it anymore.

Personally the highest score i got on my DAT was a 29.

oh okay!! lol.. I only know ONE person that did then...

Of course not. Just too lazy to put all my schools in. 👍

I got 29 in Chem.
And my bad.. the data I was talking about was from the ADA's user manual from 2004 so lots could have changed since then.
Even so... I'm confident that 30 across the board is just not possible. But single section 30s are definitely there...

ya, got 30 in carving in cDAT. but more than half of u prolly dont know what that is, so wutever.

armorshell...just a quick question...and I'm not trying to be confrontational...I am just really curious. How did you get rejected by Maryland when you got 3 27's on your DAT?? I got 19-20 on the DAT and I got in...and I am out of state...
Just curious what happened. Thanks!

what? i'm the only person who got a 30 on all sections of the DAT?

or this guy

Nice Gpa!

however, that purestyledmd "might" be telling the truth since he/she got a 29 AA and not a 30 AA...😕

I know drinking just seems to have that effect on me.
I updated my record. who knows how long it will be there for.

Hmm pyrestyledmd and I both went to the same undergrad, guess Santa Barbara is producing quite a few Dentist. I know a few other people also going to Dental school from UCSB.

30 on all parts would be pretty hard to do. the way some sections are scaled i think its impossible to get all 30s.

lol..I was just joking around with you. But I am impressed by PurestyleDMD's stats..unless he was joking too...

I got 29 on TS which I think means 1 wrong... and since my bio section had less than 100 percentile I'm guessing it was from that. So my 27s on gen chem + orgo apparently were perfect? Bio missed 1 question and got a 25...

Just guessing on those based on what I've heard and seen. But if it's all true then it goes to show you that it's really freaking hard to get all 30s, let alone more than 1 or two. I think the only sections a 30 is guaranteed with a perfect score are PAT and TS. For QR you probably have a 50/50 shot of a perfect score being a 30. Same with RC.

Check this out it will give you all the info about the DAT that you ever wanted. See pages 31 through about 46 to see how many scored a 30 on the 2004 test

Better yet, this frequency table summarizes the scores of everyone who took the DAT between January and June 2006. I'm assuming this is the timeperiod most applicant for 2007/2008 took the DAT. 10 people got 30s in QR, but only 2 in Bio, and 1 got a 30 TS!?😱 View attachment dat_score_frequency_2006.pdf

This is a crazy question, but I'm going to shoot for anyway. If someone fot a 30 on the PAT and a 14 on AA, do you think they'll got them in interview?

Marion

PAT is the LEAST important section (for UNC anyways...), so NO they won't!
Alot of people got into UNC with 16 on the PAT, but they have 22+ AA...

Streetwolf.. you pick Stonybrook over Columbia?? why?????????

So techinally If you GOT EVERY SINGLE QUESTION RIGHT on the DAT, then your score will properly be 29 across the board with one or two 30??? 😀
30 PAT
29 AA
29 TS
30 Bio
29 OC
29 GC
29 RC
30 Math

Looks like this then?? 😀

Streetwolf, I had exactly the same bio, chem, ochem, and TS scores as you. I guessed I must have gotten one wrong on bio, so I'm not sure why chem and ochem were 27 and not 28 or 29 (since it is possible)??? Must relate to the individual exams I guess.

Streetwolf.. you pick Stonybrook over Columbia?? why?????????

Because, when you get over the name, Columbia doesn't too much more to offer over any other dental school and it's very expensive.

LOL I don't see a reason why you CAN'T choose Stonybrook over Columbia.
Stonybrook is a great school too and much cheaper than Columbia. People have different preferences when it comes to choosing a dental school.

Streetwolf is from New Jersey, so the tuition for stonybrook will be for OUT of state, so it should be similar to columbia or maybe not...
😕

Curious...what is Columbia's estimated cost of attendance?

Including loan capitalization it comes out to around 310,000. I always thought it was funny how nobody ever accounts for this when they're calculating costs, considering it accounts for over 40,000 dollars of the total cost...

Ok, seeing how people get such great scores on AA or TS kinda worries me. I got 30 on PAT, but TS and AA weren't that good. Since some schools don't count PAT as much, do you guys think I should retake? Oh btw, I think the tuition money and the place is important. Name of the school comes after that...at least for me....Personally, I really think I would freeze to death if I go to schools up north......

if your TS or AA is under a 19 you should retake it..
good job on the PAT.. I am sure other schools care about that section, but UNC doesn't.
Your goal is at least a 20 on the AA and TS because its really getting competitive to get accepted!! I have a 21 AA and 22 TS and NO acceptance!! 🙁

They are 20,20. But I have 18 on RC 19s on OC and QR.

Which schools did you apply? I'm interested in CA schools, but hey I'd go to a cold place if any shcool accepts me.

20 is not bad at all! this is me http://www.predents.com/?page=user&user_id=2028
I wish I had your PAT score b/c I think ONE of the CA school care alot about them... can't rememeber which one. Also try applying to Nova, GREAT weather and not too hard to get in (so i heard anyways..). I hate cold weather too. But if its Ivy then its worth me freezing to death i think.. but i would love FL and CA the best. 👍 For CA schools I am going to apply to UCSF, UoP, and USC. (if you are OUT of state, USC will be your best shot...CA schools are GREAT so they are HARD to get into...)

Ps. DON'T apply to Meharry! waste of my TIME!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I had your TS scores and GPA!!! I've heard UoP looks heavily at PAT...my best shot then? And I know right? The Ivy....my parents being typical Asian parents....if I EVER get into an Ivy (unlikely tho)...They'd say "we will get you thicker clothes"....lol.

Oh, I called some schools and got suggested to apply 10-15 schools...I guess that tells me where I stand...sort of.

What's wrong with Meharry?
