Anyone got 30 on any/all parts of DAT?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
20 is not bad at all! this is me http://www.predents.com/?page=user&user_id=2028
I wish I had your PAT score b/c I think ONE of the CA school care alot about them... can't rememeber which one. Also try applying to Nova, GREAT weather and not too hard to get in (so i heard anyways..). I hate cold weather too. But if its Ivy then its worth me freezing to death i think.. but i would love FL and CA the best. 👍 For CA schools I am going to apply to UCSF, UoP, and USC. (if you are OUT of state, USC will be your best shot...CA schools are GREAT so they are HARD to get into...)

Ps. DON'T apply to Meharry! waste of my TIME!!!!!!!!!!

Yea I dont understand whta meharry's problem Have you seen their class for entering 2006 class, they are 16 and 15 on DAT with 3.1 at the most. I guess they purposely dont want anyone smart!

I am out of state but in my 2nd year I will get in state tuition.

I chose Stony Brook because to be perfectly honest I was NOT impressed by the clinics at Columbia. And although they may prep you very well for SPECIALIZING, I got the feeling I would not come out of the school a great clinician.

Stony Brook was all around amazing. Definitely stood out to me a LOT over other schools I interviewed at. The exception was Maryland which was a close 2nd.

Do you think, they thought people with high stats would be accepted to other schools and screw up their acceptance stats? Sucky part is when those people don't get into their reach schools and get rejected by their sort of "safety" schools-->major screwage!

I think what you are doing is smart. My housemate wants to get into Medical college of Georgia. So, staying in GA one year after undergrad graduation to get residency. I think money matters alot when you can get great education with that much money.

I am also asian!! 😀 from taiwan! Asian parents love ivys! lol... Well Meharry DO NOT favor asians at all. I was put on the waiting list and then look at the ADEA books and saw that they only accepted like 1-3 asians per year!! so yeah waste of my time applying there!! I only apply there b/c i thought 16 AA was a good back up school! 😀
Uop would be GREAT for you!! 3 years and you will be able to graduate!! 👍 ARe you a CA resident? if you are a CA resident apply to ALL five schools and if you are an out of state apply to USC and Uop for sure! (UCLA, i heard is impossible to get in as an out of stater, unless your DAT is like a 25+ AA) Ivy is GREAT, but Harvard's AA is now a 24.5 and PAT 22, so I don't have a chance anymore...🙁 so I think I am going to try Upenn and columbia this cycle.. HOPEING FOR columbia...😀 good luck!

ps. my gpa will be going down soon...physical chemistry is a GPA killer!!!!

I wish I had your TS scores and GPA!!! I've heard UoP looks heavily at PAT...my best shot then? And I know right? The Ivy....my parents being typical Asian parents....if I EVER get into an Ivy (unlikely tho)...They'd say "we will get you thicker clothes"....lol.

Oh, I called some schools and got suggested to apply 10-15 schools...I guess that tells me where I stand...sort of.

What's wrong with Meharry?

good idea, I didn't know you can get in state the second year...
you need to take the DAT for me!! 😀

Late entry here, I got a 29 (100%ile) on RC when I took the DAT four years ago. Man, have I ever gotten old since then. 😛

is that why SDN made you a super mod

Okay so its impossible to get 30's on EVERY section.. but is it possible to get 100% on every section?😕

You probably got all right, just an easier version. I got 28 too + 100 percentile.

actually I'm pretty sure I didn't get them all right, maybe one or two wrong. I couldn't remember how to do Work problems.

As long as you all realize that getting a 25 instead of a 30 on the DAT is NOT going to be the reason you don't get into dental school. Otherwise, some of you need some serious serious help!

Guess who's going to the dentist tomorrow? I AM!

30 on the math.

I really didn't prepare for it. I took the practice Kaplan test once with the blue book and easily made a 30 so I didn't prepare for the real thing and did the same thing.

Hey, I got a 30 on the General Chemistry section.

It says that 13 of us got that on the examination date I wrote the test.

Well it's technically possible to get a 30 on all sections by merely guessing.

I got 30 in gen chem but that was for cDAT. I used chad's video.

What scores are in the 100th percentile?

Is the CDR reading scores in "same number" form in the real DAT? I mean if you get 33 questions right out of 50 its an 18..... Is 33/50 which is an 18 in CDR the same as in the real dat of 2013 and 2014?

In short, no.

DAT is a standardized test. Your score depends on not only your test results, but other people's test results as well.

You might get 40/50 on your test, but if everyone else gets a score higher than you, that makes you the bottom percentile.
Conversely, it is possible to get 10/50 but still get an amazing standard score if the majority of people did worse than you did.

You're confusing standard score and percentiles. Standard score is a raw score, look at the chart above. Percentiles change according to each examinees performance on a particular version of the test, percentiles don't determine standard score. That's why they don't even include % on your score report anymore. You're saying the DAT is curved, it's not.

In the real DAT what is the Raw score of an 18, im not talking about the 2009 sample dat test. Im talking about the real one!

That is a real DAT, 2007 is the sample one. Nobody knows the real answer to your question since each test varies but we can only safely estimate between 29-35, closer estimate of 30-34.

You should be more determined on knowing more of the material, and less determined figuring out the raw score conversions.

What is the best study aid? Is it the dat destroyer
There's a better question. DAT destroyer is very good, but including others to compliment it would be best. I would (and most people) would recommend all of the following with eachother: DAT Destroyer, Math Destroyer, Crack Dat PAT (or DAT qvault PAT), DAT qVault, DAT Bootcamp, Cliff's Bio/Campbell's Bio and probably others I can't think of.

More importantly, there's a ton of DAT breakdowns which show how one completely destroyed the DAT, Glimmer has a collection on her signature.

^^^ You left out chads

I typed out a rant here about the DAT and standardized testing in generally, but nevermind that.

Study hard for a 21, the rest is luck.

That's because Meharry actively recruits URM and place a bigger emphasis on the potential for their alumni to serve URM, they care more about their students becoming service-minded dentists than what they scored on the DAT. This is from their website:
"By selecting a diverse body of students who individually demonstrate a commitment to service, possess cultural understanding, indicate the ability to successfully complete the rigorous curriculum, conduct research, and serve under-served populations in the Meharry tradition, the School of Dentistry plays a vital role in meeting the oral health care needs of everyone."
"Many of our alumni focus specifically on providing care for the under-served."

Let's say someone didn't miss one question on the entire DAT in every section and received straight 30's. Do you think the ADA or some dental schools would request a repeat believing it was a giant fluke or that the testing was tainted in some way?

I didn't take the DAT, but I feel like it'd b pretty easy to get a 30 overall on the DAT. After all, I got a 42 on the MCAT, and this is the DAT we're talking about here, which can't really compare.
