It seems that gtown smp is popular on sdn because it is an established program that lots of other medical school recognizes. I know RFU's AP is popular for its 3.0 guarantee. I am wondering what IMS's strengths are considering that there isnt a strong linkage and u arent even in class with the med students. not trying to flame IMS or anything but i'm trying to sort out the advantages and disadvantages of each post bac. any X or current IMS'ers care to share their opinions?

I like it. Most people talk about how you just watch them on the video screen, but it is really not that bad, you get all the info anyway. It is hard, but i see a huge advantage in being graded on a medical school curve. The program directors are very helpful in pointing out ecs and the like and the students are very cool. Some people on this board also like to point out the lack of a formal linkage, but i would think that ducom would have to look favorably upon students that complete the IMS year with a 3.5+. Previous students have said maybe 10-15 people go to drexel med.

any other ex-IMS'ers want to share their experiences? i guess this is a good sign... too busy studying in medical school.

Is the IMS program a 1 year or 2 year program? How many people gain admission directly into drexel after the completion of the program?

Do you take medical classes or do u just take graduate classes?

Well I went to Drexel and if you do your research on SDN you will find a very long and heated debate about Drexel. Long story short, the education was fine but the experience with the administration and facilities sucked. Look it up and make your own decision. Would I personally do the program over again, I do not know.

Did you get into the med school?

just goto georgetown SMP 👍

Yea the Georgetown program seems like the best option 👍

I like the program so far. I haven't had any problems with the administration. You get 6 med school classes and a grad school course. It takes two years to get the masters degree.
