I was wondering if you guys have results from taking the Kaplan Full Length Tests (the first 2 of them)

I am interested on what you got on the biology section + if your real DAT scores (if you have one) for bio

Thanks a bunch!

First your first post, I haven't taken my Kaplan FLs yet or even the real DAT so can't help you there lol.
Second: the Z line is just a line- it defines the boundaries of sacromeres. Sacromeres are what contract, so the region between the Z lines contracts, but not necessarily the lines themselves. So, the region between the Z lines is the H zone, which contracts. The A band is the length of myosin, which doesn't change. The I band is the distance between the Z line and the myosin, which will contract (since it's found in the region). So, filaments don't necessarily shorten/contract, it's just regions. Hope this helps! 🙂

Thanks! The Kaplan explanation says that A is wrong bc Z line "contracts", not "expand" so yeah..

Well I think Kap just means that the Z lines come closer together, which is true, but this is because the myosin filaments are sliding past the actin..I wouldn't really say the Z lines are moving by themselves...just that they are forced to move due to the myosin bringing them together.
Just know that the H zone contracts, the I band shortens and thus the sarcomere will shorten lol.
