Heard NOTHING from them (not even receipt of payment), so we're all in the same boat...

Pitt usually doesn't respond that fast, i.e if their last year's cycle is any indicator of this year. I didn't get the interview letter till late dec/early jan. They don't interview a lot, just a few times and each time there are about 40 ppl there. However, once they do make contact they're unbelievably curteous, and conscientious of your time, meaning they're very organized! In fact they called and told us the good news over the phone. Can't beat that 🙂 Good luck to you guys!

Heard NOTHING from Pitt either. They also didn't even cash my check yet, and I've sent them the secondary payment in June!

Looks like they will be hearing from me tomorrow.

I was sent a message to send in my last letter of recommendation.

Just to let you guys know, not all schools cash your checks the moment they receive them. Some of them cashed mine, much much later.

Yeah, UConn cashed my check about 2 months after I sent it! And that was several weeks after I received a letter from them confirming that they had all of my stuff. So there are some schools that hang onto your checks for quite a while 🙂

I actually called Pittsburg's admissions office this morning, and the answering machine with a woman's voice said that the checks won't be cashed until early September.

Pittsburgh tends to be slow on processing application. At least that's what a friend of mine told me.

the reason pitt is slow with the process is because they only have 6 interview dates (3 in the fall and 3 in the spring), so they do not need to start interviewing early like other schools who have a couple interview sessions per week. a nice thing about pitt is that they decide twice on who gets in, meaning they pick half the class after the fall interviews and half after the spring, so your interview date doesnt affect your chances of getting in.
