Anyone hear from UIC yet?

Hello. Has anyone who interviewed the first week of January know if the committee met today? It's been two weeks and haven't heard anything. For those who have heard, was it by snail-mail, e-mail, phone call? Thanks. 🙂

nothing here. i interviewed the first week as well. im not sure the committee met today, even though the dean said they were going to during the interview. someone on the other UIC thread mentioned the adcomm is meeting next thurs (not today).

At my interview the dean said that if you obtained a letter in the mail, it would include your site selection packet and you would be accepted. However, if you were emailed, you were unfortunetly being rejected. Hope that helps.

No problem. My page has not updated, I think it will Monday, UIC has a tendency to do things slowly. I know that the committee met last week, not exact what day it was, but I was told my letter was going to be in the mail next week.

Hey, when did you interview? Mine was 12/23. nothing yet 😎 when I called this Thurs and spoke to an adcom rep., she told me that a decision would be made next week, and that I would be notified in ~2 wks.

I interviewed the same day. I told admin that I needed to get my packet sooner than later (bc of a change in address) and that I would be in chitown the next week. She told me not to worry, that the committee was going to be meeting very soon, and that my site selection packet would be in the mail next week. Try calling again, you may get someone more informative, or you can just wait until next week. Good luck.

Sorry if I have been a bit confusing. I hounded U of I for awhile. They have some uninformed people answering phones. I can tell you though, someone that I spoke with who claimed they were on the committee said that they were making decisions on the december/early Jan interviews VERY soon. She said my letter would be in the mail next week, therefore I would also get it then. That means they may have even met last week. If that's the case your letter should be sent to you by next week. If you have any more questions you should email members of adcom directly, like Jorge Girotti.
