I also received my letter of acceptance from them yesterday. I interviewed there on Feb 2
Physics Guy,
I don't recall them giving us any specific numbers on how many seats were open or how many people were on the waitlist but I do remember them saying there was still a decent number of seats available. So, I think anyone interviewing through the month of February has a good chance at getting a seat rather than simply competing for a spot on the waitlist.
Thanks, you going to attend NYU?
Yes I am planning on attending NYU. I've only been accepted to BU and NYU and I was more impressed with NYU. Plus I can't pass up the opportunity to experience living in NYC for a few years of my life 👍
Hello! has anyone heard from NYU after sending in the requested statement of purpose? thanks 🙂
I heard back fairly quick (one week). It was an email for interview invitation.
thanks, phungy! May I please know when you sent in the requested information? I sent mine about 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything yet.
Request email received on 1.26
Email sent to Dr. Mejia on 1.27
Interview invite email on 2.12
So about 2-3 weeks turnover.

What was the "requested statement of purpose"? I interviewed at NYU mid feb, but never was asked for an extra letter.
thanks.
just wondering, if you get a requested statement of purpose, are you guaranteed an interview after? or is it kind of like a secondary application?
I called them last week, they said they were going to be offering interviews possibly into early May. I too received that letter in late January, but have heard nothing yet.
Interviewed at the last week of Feb and got waitlisted..arrg..what should i do...anyone who has got waitlisted and accepted this cycle please help.

Like Jia said, waitlist is better than a rejection. Keep the hope alive, that's what I'm doing!
By any chance, when you were at you interview, did they mention how full the class is right now (i.e. how many deposits) or when they plan to review the waitlist?
They just said there are definitely seats available...and I heard they'll review the waitlist people in mid april. Good luck to us.
Hey everyone,
I hope this info is a little calming to some of you...
There are definitely spots available because I interviewed at NYU last Monday and received an acceptance yesterday!
Stay positive everyone!
Congrats Dentanomics! Thanks for the info, it is calming. Did you hear any specific numbers, like how many seats are still available or when they plan on reviewing the waitlist?
Damn, so does that mean they wont start moving the waitlist soon? I mean if they are still doing interviews...There are about 225ish seats I believe in total. It's a huge class, and their waitlist is event longer ( about a couple hundred people). I just got invited for an interview yesterday which is super late, but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to go.

Man I sure hope not, this waiting is tough. I was looking at last years NYU waitlist thread and it looks like someone was taken off the waitlist around the end of March. Lets hope it's the same this year!
Thanks. The admissions office told me that the waiting list wont be reviewed until at least mid-April (when the second deposits from those already accepted are in). So i'd say it's going to be another 3 weeks before they start going through the waitlist.
