Anyone here still doing non-essential work in a hospital or know if it's possible?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I don't think there is non-essential work, but there is definitely essential work being done by administrative/support staff in hospitals that doesn't involve direct contact with patients.

At my hospital, they’ve pretty much closed all non-essential functions, and while those employees are WFH, they’ve asked for empl who might be willing to be re-deployed/volunteer to other parts of the hospital to help with admin (on site/remote), food services, distributing masks etc.

if anything, these sort of opportunities at hospitals are prob only available to current employees.

Why would you think you have immunity? If you do, you might be able to donate plasma. Granted, you likely won't be paid, but it would be a great talking point for interviews.

Most non essential jobs are WFH and likely not hiring right now.

Had a number of symptoms on and off for a few weeks: chest pain, trouble breathing, chills/low grade fever, weird burnt smell for a period, nausea, muscle soreness and body fatigue. Feeling mostly better this last week. Just wish I could get that serology test. I'd love to donate plasma if I had it.

I also really do need experience.

Ah, sadly, antibody testing isn't something that is really available right now. Only still in the testing/trial phases.
There is no other way to verify whether you've had it, unfortunately.

How many clinical hours do you have so far?

In regards to the antibody test availability, tell that to everyone on Fisher Island... Money helps. They do note the test is not approved yet and only available under emergency permission, or something to that effect.

Yes, Im aware.

Fisher Island is an enclave of ultra-wealthy ppl (community of 1,200 I believe)? They've secured testing for the residents through private means. Obviously, not something that is going to be widely available to the 99.9% of us...

Same applies to all the asymptomatic celebrities who started getting their own COVID tests through connections and $ when this all started happening...

I believe serum testing has already been approved and is rolling out. In NYC, tests are now being offered for essential workers and urgent-care walk-ins.
