Anyone interview @ UNECOM yet?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I have an interview @ UNECOM on October 16 and would like to hear some experiences of people who have already interviewed there this year. This whole process of waiting for interviews is killing me.

check out the "interview feedback" part of this site. It realllllly helped me for my interview at UNE!

(Be able to answer the "tell me about yourself" question 😉 )

I know interviews start this weekend but they'll keep going through the end of the winter 🙂

Im interviewing on Oct. 20! I dont have to be there until 12:15 which I find a little late...
I woudl check out the feedback on this site...it is really helpful.

Good luck!

🙂

I have an interview this weekend and will post on the feedback portion of this site.:scared: 🙂

hi guys, for those of you, if you don't mind, that got interviews at UNE can you tell me a bit about yourselves like stats, GPA, and state residency.

I'm not from Maine and I'm wondering if that will hurt my chances. My numbers are solid. I've been to Maine. I think it's great there.

My application has not been verified yet because I have a missing transcript. My GPA is a 3.6 and I have a 30 MCAT. I have tons of clinical experience too. So, I feel like I'm in the ball park for most schools.

Hello Duck,

I went to undergrad in ME (Bowdoin) and live in Mass. I know that 70% of students are New Englanders and preference is given to that region. I'm thinking that helped me.

I'm 5 years out of school and also have a lot of clinical experience. Your stats are a bit better than mine, so I would bet you will be asked for an interview once your application is complete! But I'm not on the admissions committee, so who knows!

Congrats on the hard work/great GPA and MCAT score.

Good luck!

thanks fishy

Bowdoin is a great school. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Joan Benoit. I went to a writers conference two summers ago in Maine and we stayed at Bowdoin college. I spent a couple of days in Portland and the conference was in Freeport. The Old Port was nice.

A good friend of mine graduated from Bowdoin about 7 years ago. He went on to law school. Bowdoin has a strong reputation for academics. Is UNE your first choice? Are schools like Bowdoin, Colby, Bates, UMaine, etc... primary feeder schools for UNE?

Fishy

How was your interview at UNE? What was it like?

It went very well. I received an acceptance letter yesterday and will likely be there next summer.

Please check out my interview feedback in that section of this website. I believe it is the only one posted on 9/22 for UNECOM.

All I can say about the UNECOM interview process is be yourself and enjoy your time there. There is NOTHING to stress about.

hey fishy,

thanks, I just read your response about the interview. I'm glad it went well.

How much of a deposit do you have to put down once you're accepted and how long do you have to turn it in?

FOr now it is $500 by Dec. 15. Time frames change if you are accepted later in the school year.

Not refundable. I don't think these deposits are ever refundable. The advice given to me was to put at least one deposit down at one of the schools you had been accepted. That way if you are holding out for your top choice later in the cycle you aren't left without the other next best option.

Hi ,
I interviewed at UNE and loved it! I had visited once before and felt strongly about the school, but my interview date reinforced it even more. The presentation was impressive and the area is gorgeous. I am a new england resident ( MA) and I went to school at Providence College in Providence, RI. The students I met were from all over also.
I was accepted there. The deposit is 500 dollars non refundable due by december 15th for anyone who has interviewed in the first set after that I think its a month and it gets shorter as it goes. You also have to make a 1000 dollar deposit withing 30 days of your 500 dollar deposit.
