Anyone interviewed at Harvard ? what is the interview like? Any comment is appreciated..

Congrats on your interview at Harvard. I interviewed there last month. The day began with an overview of the school. They will tell you about their problem based learning curriculum, how clinicals are organized, etc. Then you have two back-to-back, one-on-one interviews with members of the adcom. During the interview, they asked me direct questions about my application and questions about myself and my personality. This is followed by lunch at the cafeteria with 3rd and 4th year students and then a tour of the school by 1st and 2nd year students. It was good to talk with the students after the interview, so I could ask them about my interviewers and get a better feel for how my interview went. Also, they were very friendly and honest about the dental school experience. After the tour, the financial aid officer offers an optional session. I recommend attending this session. It was the most informative session I've heard so far and gave me information that I will use wherever I attend dental school.

Overall, I was very impressed with the school. With such a small class size, they can really concentrate on the individual student's needs and ideas. Also, as far as research goes, it seems that everyone can find an area that interests them for their required project. Good luck!

Thanks so much for your help. I was very surprised to receive invitation from Harvard.
Did they ask you any ethical question or tough questions in the interview? Or did they emphasize on knowing more about you, things like your research, volunteer experiences, background,,etc.

I was surprised to hear that they wanted me to interview as well. However, after meeting with the students, it seems that they are really looking for intelligent, well-rounded, and down to earth applicants.

As far as interview questions, they asked me why I made certain decisions (I am changing careers and I transferred schools during undergrad). They also asked about my experiences working in group situtations (since it is a pbl system). Most of the questions were just about my interests and community service. No really off the wall questions that I can remember.

annimul said it right. My day at Harvard was the same except my interviews started at 2:00 pm. It was very laid back. No tough questions.

My file was complete as of last week at Harvard. How long did it take for u guys to get a response?

I am having my harvard interview on the 17th of January. I have not received my package neither have I received a secondary. Should I be worried taking into account the holidays. Guys how on earth are you anticipating on financing a Harvard education, what is the average cost of attending. I am still bluntly flattered that Harvard offered to invite me, I think they were looking for smart but more importantly well-rounded students especially in the research aspect. Oh by the way did you guys spend the night before your interview at Vanderbilt Hall.

it took 2 weeks for them to send my secondary application. So don't worry. As long as you fax in the application the day before your interview, you will be fine. ( that's what Dana told me )

Hello Friends,
I also made it to Harvard! I received my acceptance several days ago. I interviewed at UCSF, UCLA, UPENN, BOSTON, Columbia and Harvard. I still have Pittsburgh left.
I did a lot of research, publications good scientific papers, received awards and grants finished a MS and the best part is: I did not score even 70% on my Test! But somehow I received acceptance everywhere I applied! Strange but true! You do not need to score high to get into Harvard! You just have to be yourself and my life was very interesting for them! I do not think to attend Harvard. I am done with research and I know enough to do my own later on. I want to be a good clinical oral physician and a good surgeon in the oral cavity. Therefore I will choose the schools where I can learn the most from this part! Think about it. It's not only the school name! The Patient never asks the dentist: Where did you graduated from? If you do your work well, your clinic will run 24/7! Being a theoretic doctor is not what I want to be.
