Anyone know if you can apply prior to completing all pre-reqs?

For the life of me, with 2 labs a semester at a minimum, I haven't be able to fit a 5 credit calc class in EVER(they meet every fuqin day of the week for one hour a pop). Can you apply with the intention of taking a pre-req after acceptance("year of math," in this case)?

yes, but i don't know how anyone would have been able to take the MCAT without completeing the science pre-reqs.

Yeah. The sciences aren't a problem. It's the stupid f'in 5 credit calc class. I don't know what the hell the point of a whole year of math is. After a year of physics/chemistry, you get a tad bit sick of the chit.

It actually depends on the school. For example cornell says you have to complete the pre-reqs before the year you intend to matriculate. For other schools as long as you take them before you matriculate (start med school) then you are fine. I don't think that many schools require calc..I would call them and check on their specific policies.

You can leave a couple of the pre-reqs for the school year of application. I know of several successful UC applicants who put off orgo labs or biochem classes or the like until the year of their application. Popular to contrary belief, most med schools are pretty reasonable, and, as long as you're a competitive applicant and have finished most of the science pre-reqs, will cut you some slack. Actually, if there is one or two classes in the pre-req sequence that you truly dread, you can pretty comfortably put it off until the application year and then take it Pass/Fail... as long as the rest of your application/grades are decent.

Group-
Thanks for the info - I was wondering the same myself. I'm gonna try to apply without Orgo lab.
My bigger issue is convincing my pre-health advisor that he should sponsor my application without all the pre-reqs completed.

I'm applying this year while taking 2 semesters of Gen. Bio. You only have to have completed the pre-reqs prior to matriculation.

That's really interesting. None of the schools where I've applied (http://www.mdapplicants.com/viewprofile.php?id=1325) had this rule. I bet that they'd be willing to bend it if you called them to discuss your situation.
