Who else who applied to MI, is a MI resident and applied super early not invited yet? I'm so worried now and losing hope everyday cuz they've given out 150 already🙁

150 huh? that's half already. It's depressing. Good job applying early, if your stats are ok, you have good ECs and especially research experience, you should get an interview. The Michigan residency thing doesn't matter for interviews though. It only makes a difference for acceptance once you secure an interview. Sucks doesn't it?

i havent heard back from them either.

I haven't heard back either. I have 4 years of research experience, good GPA and DAT. Not a ton of ECs though. I'm pretty worried at this point, I thought U of M would be my best bet for an interview.

I can't see UoM not giving you an interview with those stats plus research. They start a bit later than other schools and seem to be on the slow side. No worries. 👍

I mean, your other interview invites suggest that you're free of hidden red flags right? What fault could they find in you?

dang it. I wish I could hear back from them already!!! It's been two months of waiting.

Guys,

Is their interview 100% MMI? Do they do 1-1 interview at all?

Haven't heard a thing. I doubt I will get one since I was in the first batch and a Michigan resident. I think my chances are slim now but who knows.

the numbers they publish says other wise.

1/3 of michigan applicants land an interview vs. less than 10% of oos applicants land an interview. Of course they are a public state school so it is not a surprise to me.

I decided on dentistry relatively late, so I don't have a ton of shadowing hours. Also there's a possibility one of my LORs could be a little weak, I'm not sure though. Fingers crossed for all of us!

Hey just wondering where did you hear that they interview 1/3 of the Michigan applicants?

I'm OOS but haven't gotten a MI interview even though my stats are above average across the board. I thought it was because my app was late (early Sept mailing). MI admissions officer advised to apply early and said verbatim back in June "early bird gets the worm" but I couldn't do anything about it since I was still studying for DAT.

That's what I thought actually. I'm just getting this second hand from a few sdners (on different threads) who claimed to have talked to the school. I didn't want to personally bother them with what would seem like a very trivial question though.
