I was wondering if anyone has been contacted by any programs after their interview?

When I was an applicant, in 2002, it seemed fairly common for programs to send some sort of contact stuff. Over half the programs I applied to at least sent an e-mail. Some of them verged on strongly implying rank us high cause we're gonna rank you high...no one did it overtly, of course - that is illegal.

I hope this is trending down b/c I only had one email me saying they were ranking me.

Last year:

Montefiore: You get a letter that tells you whether you will be ranked, ranked highly or not ranked at all.

Hopkins: PD sent repeated emails saying I was essentially guaranteed a spot if I ranked them high enough.

I heard nothing from most programs. A few sent me a thank you letter and wished me well in the match.

The chair at one program called, and a couple programs have sent emails. Actually, I got a christmas card from one of the chairs. That was a surprise. Most people just send a letter, it seems, at least to me.
