I got them from everyone who interviewed me after my first interview. I think it's standard practice at some programs....though maybe it's just for people they will be ranking...dunno...
March 15th will be the most telling...so just wait like the rest of us. No point in wasting time wondering. Are we in high school? "OMFG! look at what he/she wrote me during study period. Does he/she like me, want to have sex, etc."
I certainly don't know how to "read into" those notes either... especially when you're really stoked about a program. I find myself wondering what the other interviewees got in their letters...hmmm.. has anyone gotten a letter that was less ambiguous than the general "we feel you would fit in well"...etc..?
thanks gang! Good luck!
I got a letter from an assistant program director (which I believe was just a standard letter), but then it included a sentence that was unique to my interview. I thought that was nice, and it made it more personal. I certainly hope that it means something, but I'm sure it's just standard as well.
What specialties are you guys applying to? I imagine small specialties (derm, ophtho, rad onc) as they interview fewer people so applicants get more personal attention? Do IM and FP programs directors also send out thank you cards to interviewees?
