First or second week of july from what I hear.

Last year, the schools did not even start to receieve the AMCAS until about this time. Secondaries probably are sent a week or two after that and they might take a few days to get to you (though of course, some are online). I would probably say late July/early august.

oh ok. Hmmm...then why was everyone rushing to get AMCAS in early? I was looking fwd to finishing up all my secondaries during the summer while i still had time.

the reason everyone freaks out about getting their stuff into amcas so early is that if you get your application to them in early june, you're chances of being processed/verified/transmitted in about 3 weeks are pretty good. if you get it into them in early july, it's likely gonna take 6-8 weeks to get everything through to your schools. plus, if you're stuff is in early and amcas screws up with something (which happens all too frequently with them), you'll be able to fix it and not be too late getting everything submitted by amcas. but if you don't get it in until august, amcas screws up and you have to fix it, it might be september or october until schools get your primary = bad.

Hello,

Oh it's the first week of July? I received one secondary already and was wondering where the rest were.

which school did you receive a secondary from?

NEOUCOM, in Ohio

My understanding is some of the schools expect you to go to their website and download the secondary and just send it in. So really you have to know what your schools require by doing some research. But, I don't think you can download any of these until they receive your AMCAS, so if that hasn't happened yet, it's still a waiting game.

nope- i received emails or snail mail invitations to fill out all of my secondaries last year. at some schools that are online you CAN fill out the secondary before you receive the email notification, but are definitely not required to.

Icekid is right. Last year I received my secondaries via snail mail, or I got an invite in the mail to fill out their electronic secondary. Almost all of the apps I filled out required and ID and password which was provided by the school. 👍
