Looking to re-take ~3-4 pre-reqs before applying to an SMP next year and was looking at Harvard Extension for this because the timing just works better with my current commitments. I noticed it's online for the 2021-2022 year and I'm not sure if this will look poorly since many medical schools don't accept online courses.

Has anyone re-taken science pre-reqs at HES and if so, how did this impact your medical school apps? Also, do they code classes as "online" on the transcript?

Thanks in advance! 🙂

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. I was planning to go to Cambridge to take an immersion course in January 2022, so now I assume it will be offered remotely (?). But now I'm a little concerned about schools accepting these credits. Do adcoms differentiate between "remote learning" and "online classes"?

I'm also looking for more information regarding the school. From what I've read on the website, the school year 2021-2022 will be fully online.

To my knowledge they don’t code courses as online courses but you could easily verify this with the registrars office. Many of the prereq courses when I attended pre pandemic were offered with the option of attending lectures in person or remotely and appeared as typical courses on transcripts. Many of my classmates would not attend lectures as they were recorded and posted online. Personally I don’t anticipate problems with taking courses at HES. It is unlikely they will raise a flag with the program being online as there are several thousand colleges and universities in the US - that’s simply far too many for an admissions committee to track if they are in person or online.
