Hey guys a friend of mine gave me pdf versions of the old format AAMCs with 216 questions per exam. I was wondering if there was any downside to studying off of these compared to the shorter versions. I am under the impression that the old format exams just include several sections which dont appear on the new practice exams. So my thinking is that it will be extra practice? The only thing that worries me is that my timing will be off for the sections, but the way I see it if i try to work through everything as quickly as possible this wont be a problem. Any comments? Thanks!

Pros:

1) Better Endurance
2) More sections to target weaknesses

Cons:

1) Misrepresentation of actual timing
2) Must write down answers

Solution:
Complete all pdfs of old AAMCs and target weak areas. Take them under simulated test-day conditions.

Buy AAMC 10 and AAMC 11 and do week before/during test-day week to gauge most similar conditions.

Result: Domination

I used 4R, 5R, and 7R. They are good practice, I'm just not so sure how accurate they are. My scores were:
4R: 32 (10 PS, 11VR, 11BS)
5R: 34 (12 PS, 11 VR, 11BS)
6R: 34 (11 PS, 10 VR, 13BS)

I took AAMC 8 today (regular online format) and scored a 38!!!! (13 PS, 11VR, 14 BS)

So while the old versions are good practice, they may not be the best score indicators.
