First off, I'm not very good at O-Chem. I barely passed O-Chem 1 and due to some health problems/surgery I have had a full year off between O-Chem 1 and O-Chem 2.

Has anyone used the "Standard Deviants - Organic Chemistry 1-2-3" videos to help learn O-Chem?

Does anyone think they'd be helpful to study for the DAT or just re-learn stuff before I go back for part 2?

I'll include a link to the video's in case anyone wants to see the topics covered.

Thanks.

Those videos were handy for first semester o-chem material. I also found them handy for DAT REVIEW. Nothing can take the place of the hard work that will be necessary to excel at the O-Chem section of the DAT!

**Beware, you may go temporarily insane after watching these videos!**

No experience with the O-CHem videos, but I watched the GenChem ones. Personally, I couldn't stand all the slapstick humor and craziness, but some people go for that stuff, I guess. Your probably better off watching Nickelodeon for a few hours, then studying the real prep materials.

They're pretty good. My experience is that they rarely cover the stuff I'm really stuck on, but I find them good for going over a section before it will be covered in class. Plus sometimes the videos have good mnemonics (e.g. a silly song). They're no substitute for hard work, but they're still a good resource.
