that book is actually decent and much better than the one I used in gen chem but if you can try use this in conjunction with your book:
it can be had for approx $30 at barnes and noble/amazon. does an excellent job of explaining kinetics, equilibrium, and a lot of the other concepts people usually struggle with in gen chem.

I own a copy of this book...I think I paid $20 for it...was worth the money to me because sometimes just having it explained in a different way can be a world of difference

No, This was my gen. Chem Book.
It was Terrible, The soultions to the practice problems were wrong, even some in the solution manual. Hated this book also Way to expensive almost $200 back when I bought it from the univeristiy bookstore, (now I buy online)
