Anyone using calcitonin?

50is yo female with pmhx for polytrauma with pelvic ring fracture years prior. Fixated and now healed. She has a tender spot lateral to her pubic ramus which CT confirms is right around where one of her fractures was. I have tried neuro pain agents and local injection. Anyone use calcitonin? I always read that it can be used for bone pain but have never met anyone who uses it. Any tips or doing you have found effective? Anything to watch for? Thanks

Yes. Acute Fx's, bid, alternating nostrils. 1 mo only. Either kyho or they are healed.

No role for chronic pain or osteoporosis.

yes 2 sprays per day for fractures vs 1 for OP

I have used it a lot for acute pain - for several conditions.

It works very well (but is often short lived).

I would use it.
