hey,
it doesnt really work that way, they wont let you switch dates, and probably the only way you "pick up" someones cancellation is if you were trying to apply at the exact moment they clicked cancel. there are so many folks on the email list, much less random people trying to get a date, that it just doesnt work out that way unless you got extrememly lucky.
